Skype Prank
Here's a prank perpetrated on the Skype system (an internet-based phone and chat service) that proves you never know who you're talking to online:

A profile is put up with a girl's name and picture, and put in "Skype me" mode. Within minutes some seedy guy will invariably try calling/chatting, and there's a little program I made running the whole time which will partner up people 2 at a time, and send messages from the first person to the second, & vice versa. This way both people think they're talking to a girl, when they find out, well, they're not normally too happy about it...

It reminds me of the VixenLove program (which was a computer program designed to simulate a 19-year-old girl). But this is better, because it pairs up two real people and makes them waste their time hitting on each other.

How can a computer program stimulate a 19 year old girl I would like to buy it

Been around many 19 year old girls lately? Wouldn't be hard, very limited vocabulary.

Let's see, this prank gets two people to waste time, thinking they're hitting on an attractive member of the opposite sex.

So ... How is this different from ANY internet chat room?

I don't really see how someone who would want to talk to a girl online is any 'seedier' or more of a time-waster than someone who would design and run a program to play a cruel joke on such a person. And the programmer is a big fat jerk besides.

"Oh, you mortals so far beneath me! Such folly I see, as you dare to search for affection and companionship in this often cold and lonely world! Being an enlightened bodhisattva, I shall hand you down a lesson from on high! I will randomly fool two of you into thinking you are a teenage girl! That way each of you fat, ugly, smelly, geeky perverts (which I know you are, because stereotypes are ALWAYS true, and I of course am incapable of error) will actually be flirting with EACH OTHER! Oh ho ho ho! Now thank me for my guidance! Have you not learned a lesson from my perfection?"

Hey guy who programmed this crap, I have a present for you. It's a yellow t-shirt that says, in black letters, "I'm a Dick". Now wear it every day, for the rest of your life.

This boy (or girl?) have no shame. Are private conversations, with directions of emails private too. For me... Internet is a world of fun, a perfect Matrix, but no a "Big Brother". A little respect. The question is... Would like this boy that someone make some similar with him?. No, is the answer, i am sure.

Congrats for your page! i visit you all days from Spain, good job :D

Reminds me of the old conference call gag, where you call two people on a single telephone then link them together as if each called the other. Takes some little rewiring of the phone to join them and enable the prankster to call through, but very much worth it for the riotous fun of conversations between people who each think the other called them. Well, maybe for one or two calls.

He didn't say simulate, he said stimulate. I think pornography would probably work.

Barghest: Well said! The programmer should find a human being to spend time with! Your post is an excellent rant!
