Yale to Harvard: You Suck
image In a reworking of the Great Rose Bowl Hoax of 1961, Yale students, posing as members of the 'Harvard Pep Squad', managed to trick Harvard fans into holding up flip-cards reading 'WE SUCK' at the Harvard-Yale football game. I guess it's true that the great pranks never go out of style. (Thanks to Mormagli for giving me a heads up about this on the message board)

That is truely beautiful, and brings a smile to my heart.

It's nice to see that there are still some really classy pranks being pulled out there.
This one has just about everything-- it's imaginative, it's audacious, it's funny, and nobody really got hurt.

The best damn prank ever. The intricasies of the prank are awesome. How they pulled it off is an engineering marvel. It requred a coordinated effort on the part of many talented Yalies in their Harvard Pep Squad T-shirts. Unbelievably, there is no Harvard Pep Squad. They must have assumed Harvard was brain dead for the prank was done at Harvard post 9/11. It was audacious and yet nothing illegal was done. It is estimated that 100,000,000 were exposed to it world-wide. I saw it in Thailand and again in Mexico. grin

Not to dismiss it, or anything, because it was bloody impressive, but here in the UK, nobody I've spoken to has any knowledge of it, and I first heard of it on this site...

(BTW, where did the estimate come from?)

It appeared in FHM, MAXIM, UK's PCFORMAT, THE NEW YORK SUN front page, Kimmel Show, MSNBC, countless radio and TV shows, newspapers and magazines. Google "Yale's We Suck Prank" for a partial listing. Europe's and Asia's response to it are documented on the web site. Oxford and Cambridge as well as many English and Irish have written many comments.
