White Peacock
Status: Real
It may look like something out of a fairytale, but it's definitely real. Plus, it's a pretty cool photo. Here's a different picture of a white peacock on Wikipedia. (via Reality Carnival)|

Oooh, pretty! I bet it still makes that annoying noise though!

Why would this be a big deal? Last time I went to the Baton Rouge Zoo, they had a couple of them running around. If the BR zoo had them, they can't be *that* uncommon.

I've never seen one before...
But then again I get excited when I see a white swan! We only have black ones here.

I hate peacocks. There's one living right across from our house and wakes us all up at ungodly hours in the morning.

I'm confused...who said this was a hoax? I've seen white peacocks in person before. They're very beautiful.

We have White Peacocks here in England. I've never seen one looking quite that perfect and pretty but I've seen them in parks, zoos, etc. There are a couple at Leeds Castle in Kent (which also has what it claims is the largest dog collar museum in the world...).

Nettie, you aussies are lucky - You also have Lyre Birds, which have the glamour of white peacocks and can reproduce up to 32 distinct sounds apart from their own call, from breaking glass to chainsaws to huamn speech.
And we kiwis lost our native black swan years ago, so we are grateful that yours have come over.

The peacock is real, not a hoax. It's in our local park (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada)... or it was.

Hi:
I don't know why anyone would call this a hoax, here in St. Augustine we have the Fountain of Youth (of course it is a hoax, but honestly come to), where there is a flock (or party) of White Peafowl. There are many of them, and I drive tours in this city. I have heard them called "Temple" peacocks, but can't find any real reference to that. Is it true. They are here, they are gorgeous white peacocks, but are they "Temple" Peacocks, and Peahens. I hate to give out wrong information, especially as mating season is coming up, and they put on great shows for my tour riders.
