This is probably going around so that it can be used as ammo to bash Bush.
But. It's true that the White House does employ master chefs. What a lot of people don't realize is that what is ordered comes out of their personal budget. So big fracken whoop if Bush orders rack of lamb, cause he pays for it out of his own wallet.

big whoop indeed. I print wedding invitations and often placecards and menus for the events as well and I've seen many fancier meals for 'common' people.

Not sure how this could be used to bash Bush. If it's fake, what's the motivation? If it's real, it's just about what I'd expect from a White House dinner. The Republicans are the ones who have been known to bash the "Liberal Elite," not the other way around.

Hell, *I* had a fancier meal than that for Valentine's Day.
It's a bit odd that that "menu" came out of Photoshop, though, and that they were able to get the original so perfectly aligned in their scanner. (The typography is awfully amateur, too.) Between that and the content it *does* read as the sort of thing that someone with aspirations beyond the Olive Garden might do up.

Wow, this is a boring and pointless story.

I don't see how there are any Bush-bashing opportunities here (and believe me, I looked). It seems like a fairly ordinary dinner menu.
I might have hoped the White House would use a less goofy-looking font to print its menus, but then again, it might not.

I am not sure if they serve alcohol at events. The President does not drink. That would make this appear to be a hoax.

We all know Bush fell off the wagon after Katrina.

I'm surprised it didn't include quail.

Well the president might not drink, but there are always drinkers at parties.

Joe-- I was more expecting Roast Whittington.

C'mon, someone draw up a proper fake White House menu eh?

Oh, and:
The President does not drink... wine.
Had to be done, sorry.

I believe this to be an honest menu. We saw one just like it posted at Solena Winery with an official White House letter thanking the winery for their Pinot Gris.
