These shoes were quite popular during the prohibition era. You could buy them in many shoe stores. They don't look like they were very comfortable.

I want some. Similar shoes are in fashion, at the moment. I'm not sure what I'd carry in the smuggling-tube, since I don't drink, but they don't look too hard to walk in. Certainly easier than the platform stripper heels! :D

I don't think "comfortable" is a criterium for many shoe purchases.
