Shark Surfing

In this video a surfer hitches a ride behind a shark, after getting the shark to swallow some chunks of meat attached to a fishing line. It looks like it was shot in southern California, and we do get some big sharks around here occasionally. Just last week a guy was killed off the coast of San Diego by a great white. But this video looks obviously fake. As many of the youtube comments point out, you can see the wake of a boat off camera in front of the shark fin.

I don't have any information about who made the video. At the end, the word "Notorious" appears on the screen, but I don't know who or what that is.

I'd rather ride a Wave. (Old people will get that joke) I'm also tickled (I don't get out much; they changed the locks again) to see how the term "jump the shark" had really imbedded itself into the political, sports, and primarily entertainment reviews, as in: "That show jumped the shark last night, that politicain really jumped the shark with that last speech", etc. It all stems from Fonzie's water-ski-shark-jumping feat which was so lame, it sounded the death knell and eventual cancellation of Happy Days. Perhaps in the future we'll say: "Hey, that website really surfed the shark yesterday", or: "that poster finally surfed the shark today. What a dork". Could happen

Notorious is a famous surf gang from Australia I guess. If this video is about them, I think this is not a fake...

This is a pretty obvious hoax. Too many camera angles, you can't see the shark but you can see it's fin sticking out pretty far... where is the shark that is attached to?

Note the other surfers just looking at him. If there is a fin showing like that, people head for the shore pretty freakin fast around here.

This is not real.

The music attempts to drown it out, but through the entire video you can hear the whine of a small electric motor from a boat. My dad uses them as an alternative to gas guzzling ones to go fishing. They're also a nifty trick for making prank vids like this one as they're barely noticeable unless you know the sound and can seperate it from normal ocean sounds.

I think this is definately a fake. Not only from the camera angles and all that stuff - but I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be that much of a wake behind a shark!
It looks to me more like there's a small sub-type thing under the water that a fake fin is attached to.

I salute those who have the guts to play with the dealth. Such kind diving will lead to the serious result.Initially i was not sure what was going on, but, "Shark", horrible indeed.

Also, unlike other species, their scales are rough but won't rip into your skin.
