Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Bum Attack” Hoax

The highlight of Sunday night's MTV Movie Awards came when Sacha Baron Cohen, dressed up as Austrian fashion reporter Bruno, floated across the room on wires, but then somehow fell and landed face down in Eminem's lap (his butt in Eminem's face). Subsequently Eminem stormed out of the show.

The award show's head comedy writer, Scott Aukerman, is now admitting it was not a spontaneous mishap. The entire scene was choreographed and rehearsed. In fact, Paris Hilton had reportedly been Cohen's first choice of victim, but she declined to participate.

I can't imagine this revelation will surprise anyone. It would only have been a surprise if the stunt wasn't staged.

File this under "D" for "duh"... There's not too much these days that aren't scripted for these 'award' shows.

Nothing on TV is spontaneous.

Well, okay, sports are.

Sports still have plays, though!

Although...I guess by now it's tradition for Eminem to get pissed off at MTV. I duno if anyone saw Russel Brand's NY standup...he hosted some awards last year (music, I think)...he went over the things he thought would be really funny & said that he got NO responses...so he was backstage frantically trying to find something to say, loL!

Are we really supposed to believe that the chick* who posted video of herself engaged in dog-style sex to the Internet refused to participate in a publicity stunt?

Otherwise, was the whole thing scripted? Uh, yeah ...

(*Calling Paris a "woman" would imply a level of maturity she could never even imagine.)

I think what people are questioning is whether Eminem knew it was coming. Judging by his reaction "ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME? GET YOUR ASS OUT OF MY FACE" and subsequent storm out I guess not, although everyones talking about it and it probably won't hurt his album sales. I doubt eminem would have given permission for this to happen though, as it did nothing more than humiliate him.

"I doubt eminem would have given permission for this to happen though, as it did nothing more than humiliate him."

Except that we now know that he DID give permission for it.

BTW, of course Paris Hilton refused to participate in this. She wanted to preserve her dignity.

I'll pause while you all shake your heads in disbelief at that comment.

If you watch the clip from the show, you can see where a camera zoomed in on Eminem so you could see his face well before Cohen dropped.

Gee, how did they know where he would land?

What can you say? White Boys doing Rap, that's fairly unlikely to start with.
