Pray For Less Crime

Status: Stupidity in the news
Just a week ago there was a town in Texas praying for rain. Before that we saw prayer as a treatment for cancer. Now a town in England is going to encourage local residents to pray for less crime. I'm sensing a trend:
The Lincolnshire branch of the Christian Police Association is setting up a "Prayer Watch" scheme to alert Christians to local crimes. As well as encouraging worshippers to keep an eye out on their churches and each other, the police said the scheme would allow Christians to use prayer to help catch criminals. "It's largely geared to protecting congregations and church properties which are pretty vulnerable places, but with the added bolt-on aspect of prayer," a Lincolnshire police spokesman told Reuters Wednesday.
I assume this is like a Christian version of the Maharishi Effect. And doubtless just as effective!

One day I hope that The Museum of Hoxes will have on it's pages the longest running hoax perpertrated by mankind - Religion.

Yet another story of foolish people thinking that talking to yourself is going to change the world. Religion is the biggest abuse of trust man has invented.

By the way does prayer only work when you put your hands together? Has any scientist studied this? Does it work better with palms together or clenched fist?

"By the way does prayer only work when you put your hands together?"

Perhaps God hates amputees and paraplegics?

This was on the front of our local paper the other day. It's pretty embarassing really, we're not all like this!

I wish those people in Lubbock would stop praying for rain. We have gotten 19" in the area where I live with severe flooding. I am a ways west, so unfortunately, it may all be used up by the time it reaches them. LOL.

I prayed for years and not a one of my prayers were answered and no i was not praying for selfish items. Prayer? Like the man said, when you pray all you are doing is talking to yourself.
