Thames Whale Watering Can on eBay

Status: Beware of fakes
This is just pathetic:

Opportunists have tried to capitalise on the hysteria surrounding the Thames whale by putting a bogus watering-can up for sale on eBay, with a starting price tag of £1,924. The unidentified owner insisted the item was used in the attempted rescue of the 19ft northern bottle-nosed female whale to keep her moist and comfortable. But the fake sale outraged the British Divers Marine Life Rescue, who spent 36 hours and £100,000 trying to save the sea mammal's life and who were selling their own watering-can online.

Here's the real watering can for sale. Bidding is currently up to £99,701.25. (I hope that's not because of fake bids.)

Alex, we've had this discussion before... What makes that piece o' crap watering can any better than the ones that look identical to it for sale down at the local Wal-Mart. What makes the buyers (suckers) story any more believable than mine (that MY $2 watering can was the one that was used). And what if the buyer got a certificate of authenticity with his can, I made one on the computer for a mere $.05... ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE GET MY POINT?????!!!!!... or am I the only one out there that can think of a gazillion things I'd rather do with my money than prove to the world my true level of how GULLABLE I really am... the buyer of this item truly deserves the "IDIOT OF THE YEAR AWARD".

This is kind of like buying your favorite celebritiy's used chewing gum. You're never going to use it, it's WAY overpriced, and in a few years nobody will remember it. That reminds me, I have Yulia Volkova's old hairbrush on ebay if you want it!It's Yulia-tastic.

All the funds raised by the real one will be going to charity, so even if it's useless those bidding will be doing some good.

I can't decide what's worse - the fact that people are trying to pull a fast one with the fake can, or the fact that people are willing to pay so much money for it. World's gone mad!
