Who is Mr. Six?

image This question comes from the hoax forum, where it's sparked quite a debate: what's the deal with that guy in the Six Flags ads? You know the one. The 'old dude' who looks like he's about 90-years-old but dances around maniacally like a 19-year-old. Is he really an old man? Or is he a young professional dancer dressed up as an old man? If you're not familiar with 'Mr. Six', then you can check out the commercials starring him at Six Flags' website. Apparently Six Flags is being swamped by requests to reveal the true identity of Mr. Six, but so far they're staying mum, evidently hoping to milk the interest in him for all it's worth. So here's a poll so that the public can vote on who they think Mr. Six really is:

Don't ruin the imaginations of the commercial viewers. I wanted to believe it was a real old man!!! No, honestly, looking at his hands and considering his fine dance moves I think it is a young man in an old man constume.

He's probably a young guy disguised as an old man, but more importantly, I want to know where I can get some glasses like his. He sports the fly-est pair of specks ever made.

Hey! I thought that was Dana Carvey!!! Doesn't it look like him (ever seen Master of Disguise?)??

Hey! I'm the one who started the topic. I'm so happy that it was such a sucess and that I got my very own spot in the museum of hoaxes! I feel so special now.

I usually just call him That Crazy Guy. Even if he turned out to be a bunch of trained gerbils in a rubber old man suit I wouldn't care much.
Posted by PlantPerson  on  Thu Jul 15, 2004  at  09:49 AM
It shows a picture of him on the Six Flags website. His hands don't look wrinkly like most old men's hands do. If you've been with Museum of Hoaxes a while, you remember Bimpco. He wears the same type of glasses Bob Bimpco has. Check it out. http://www.bimpco.com

We get that commercial at least 40 times a day. The head and neck doesn't quite match up, so it's most likely a younger person dancing, with the old man's head photoshopped in.

Whomever the actor is, I think they've speeded up the film on the shots where it's just him.
Posted by cvirtue  on  Thu Jul 15, 2004  at  06:49 PM
Look closely and you can see the line of his fake rubber bald-wig.

i still want those glasses!
Posted by john  on  Mon Jul 19, 2004  at  11:37 AM
you wold thinkthat after all of the advances made in the movie industry that people wouldn't even spend there time thinking about whether it is an old man or a yong man! clearly it is a young man in prosthetic make up... and for all those who believe it is an old man... come to my house and show me a man that is 90 years old and can dance better than a 30 year old... then i will believe you...
Posted by becks  on  Mon Jul 19, 2004  at  03:48 PM
I wish they would pull that commercial. It is almost as annoying as the ones for those fake medical training ads or the fake university ads. Not to mention the music is like nails on a chalk board. Dont waste time thinking of who it is, not even worth the thought.
Posted by Tim  on  Tue Jul 20, 2004  at  03:27 PM
how can you deny this guy? heretics!! he's an old man who takes his vitamins. sucks to photoshop and rubber masks. he's an old dude!!!!!!!!
Posted by this doesn't matter  on  Tue Jul 20, 2004  at  09:27 PM
it is a woman. i met mr. six in costume and they don't allow her to talk because it is a woman folks.
Posted by dave  on  Wed Jul 21, 2004  at  11:03 AM
I think it's an older guy in good shape. It also looks like the parts of the commercial where he's dancing is ran faster also, which gives it that spastic look.
Posted by Drunk Stepdad  on  Thu Jul 22, 2004  at  03:33 AM
Lemme change that vote. After looking at a bigger picture, the size of the head and neck just don't seem to match the body...
Posted by Drunk Stepdad  on  Fri Jul 23, 2004  at  03:02 PM
Got to be a young guy in the commercial, the hands look too thick to be feamle.
Posted by Chico  on  Tue Jul 27, 2004  at  04:09 PM
Early on I thought it was Martin Short, because he seems to enjoy dressing up in unrecognizable prosthetic makeup and has been known to bust a move from time to time, but I have since found out that Martin is no kid himself ( well over 50 ) so I'm guessing its some young dancer, all done up to look older than God

It's Jaleel White, aka URKEL!

Who is the actor that plays the six flags guy?...

Quick! Before it's too late! Get those so-called Olympic mascots Athena & Phevos outta there, and replace 'em with Mr. Six!!

Does no one else see Mr. Six's similarity to Jackass's Johnny Knoxville?

Posted by don warner saklad  on  Thu Aug 19, 2004  at  10:04 AM
It's a young guy in a Bucky Fuller outfit. He's so synergetic!
Posted by Wolf  on  Fri Aug 20, 2004  at  02:45 PM
your all wrong, a friend works for the agency that discovered/produced the fictional character, I have seen the casting tapes, winston smith produced the mask for a cost of $60,000. He is an actor from outside the us. and was a nobody before the campaign launched.
Posted by debunked your momma  on  Fri Aug 27, 2004  at  01:48 PM
I think this guy is actually Micheal Jackson, so he can get close to kids, but I overheard some ad execs on a plane I think they said he is young man and has a strange disease that makes him look old and the reason he never talks is cause his voice sounds like a 10 year old. Or maybe he is actually played by ex members of menudo.
Posted by woy of knowhow  on  Fri Aug 27, 2004  at  01:57 PM
what plane were you on? what day? verify your sources!

"I'LL NEVER TELL" Besides isn't all this media speculation just a bunch of pr bullshit to ingrain some "new cultural icon" into our minds, like the "ZOOM" kid or "Morris" cat? who the hell really cares about a dancing old man when kids are dying for oil? More riddlin please I can't concentrate.
Posted by woy of wong  on  Mon Aug 30, 2004  at  11:07 AM
Your all missing it. The actor which plays the old man is actually IN the first commercial in this campaign. he's the school teacher who looks out the window at the 6 flags buss. He is surrounded by school kids. His expression is the same as the old mans. Check it out, I'm right.

I saw an episode of Stark Raving Mad where Tony Shalhoub, who was the main character (a writer) dressed up as an undertaker's helper and he looked JUST like Mr. Six. I believe that is who he is. Currently, Tony acts in a drama called MONK which I cannot get unless I want to pay more.
Posted by oldwhitelady  on  Thu Sep 02, 2004  at  03:39 PM
it's not the teacher, for one the guy in costume has a shaved head due to the makeup, the teacher has hair. I have heard he was a British Break Dancer, and never talks cause of his accent.
Posted by who cares?  on  Fri Sep 03, 2004  at  11:53 AM
I can clear this all up for you because I am the REAL Mr. Six.

I am not a young dancer in makeup! I am a 97 year old man and my name is Augie. I have been dancing my ass off long before this crazy internet was invented.

I was discovered by an ad agency executive while wondering aimlessly through New York City. I was wearing only a KFC bucket and a pair of depends. I had recently crapped my diaper and was shaking wildly to loosen the poop smeared all over my butt. The more I wiggled, the worse it got. A cute young female ad executive saw my struggle and thought I was dancing. By this time, my bucket hat had fallen from my head and landed at my feet. It seems this sweetie thought I was dancing for money, when I was actually just trying to shake my poo loose. I think I may have been having a little bit of a stroke too.

She asked me if I was a professional dancer and I asked her to wipe the crap off of my legs and back. She walked me to a nearby fire hydrant and hosed me down (knocking me down and causing me to fly across 4 lanes of traffic by the way.) After pulling me out from under a taxi cab, she told me they were working on a commercial for Six flags and needed a dancing fool such as myself.

It was unfortunate that I chose that exact moment to take another crap, but at least this time I was standing nude on the street, so no wiping was needed. I negotiated a price of $2.35 per commercial and a new suit. The suckers fell for it and the rest is history.

AHAHAHHA you should do creative copy writing, "Mr. Six", no I jest .... for the final time he's a young guy, I work for the agency in question, Doner, if you doubt this look up in AD AGE we do the creative for Six its a $100 million dollar account, keep an eye out for MR. Six taking on Jackass. Once and for all he's a young guy, he might be from ny he might be from the uk, but seriously people get a life go raise money for poor kids, make a sandwich for the homeless, i would but on my meager salary I can't afford my own lunch.....

I thought I made it very clear that I am the real Mr. Six! What is wrong with you young people today? You're all a bunch of dirty long hair hippies! Get some jobs you rock and rollers!

I gotta go change my diaper.

I personally think he really is just an agile old man, though I'm willing to believe he's a young man in disguise.

Also, to those of you pretending to be Mr. Six: Get a life.

Thanks for the info, Alex!
Maybe I can find this before Halloween.
I'm setting up an elaborate `Alien' scene
with a full `Alien' mask and body suit,
after scaring the heck out of the kids,
I thought it'd be funny for that music
to suddenly come on, and ol' slimy `Alien'
to do the Mr. Six dance.

I dont realy care who he is because six flags rules and Mr. Six is god. When i get my licence i want to drive a bus just like his while listening to "We like to party" and traveling to all the six flags parks in America. When i stop for gas i will get out and dance like mr six and in the process i will recruit ne people to come on my six flags road trip. they will also dance. Long live Mr. Six.
