Morgellons Disease: Is It Real?

image Sufferers of Morgellons disease complain of invisible parasites biting their skin. And they get skin lesions from which sprout strange fibers. And mysterious black spore-like specks appear on their skin. Cases of this strange disease seem to be spreading, especially in the Bay area. One theory is that it has something to do with Lyme disease. Or it may be a case of mass delusion. The medical community seems to think it's mass delusion. Most people who show up complaining of these symptoms get diagnosed with 'delusional parasitosis', which is a psychological problem in which people imagine that they're infested by parasites. Not having any medical qualifications at all, I won't weigh in on whether this is a real disease or mass delusion, but some of the behavior of the patients does sound suspiciously bizarre. Take the case of Theresa Blodgett:

She gathers up the black specks, the mysterious fibers and the small, fuzzy 'cocoons' she finds on her skin and around her home. She tapes the macabre samples to typing paper, but she said no doctor will analyze the collection. Physicians who glance at the specimens dismiss the lot as stray hairs, clothing fibers, scabs and other common household debris, she said.

So either she really is suffering from something and is desperately but unsuccessfully trying to get doctors to pay attention to her, or she's obsessively collecting house dust and stray flecks of dirt and convincing herself that these things are parasites attacking her. My mother has Morgellons. This is a very real disease. I have seen these things she picks out of her skin, lips, nose, etc. It is quiet unsettling as noone knows what the outcome is for Morgellons sufferers.
Is anyone aware of the string of "deaths" of microbiologists around the world in the last few years? Some of them were studing " NEW EMERGING DISEASES". Now, let's see, is something not a disease because we've never heard of it or seen it ourselves??? Wonder what was going through the mind of the person/persons who were diagnosing the first case of Alhiemers Disease? (sorry 'bout spelling!) The first case of PMS? I actually went to a doctor 3 years ago because I could not unrinate! I could only go so much and then quit. It didn't feel like the usual bladder infection feels (you ladies know what I mean!). There was no pain or burning I just couldn't go! I also had something else happening with my body called "hot spots". It felt in spots on my body like 105 degree temp. It was extremely uncomfortable. When I explained these symptoms to my sis-in-law, she said that's what she experiences with her disease, Fibromylagia. So, I went to this doc who told me he didn't believe in Fibromyalgia and that I needed psychiactic help. He couldn't find Hmmmmmmmmm.....went to my gyconcologist two days later and he couldn't believe my urethra was only completely closed. He had to dialete my urethra! The blessed joy of being able to relieve myself returned IMMEDIATELY upon the completion of the procedure!!!!!!
Gee, I guess I had "delusions of urinitosis" until a doctor found I actually didn't think myself into "not unrinating"! Now, I ask you, do I sound a little aggresive? If so, I apologize. I am just so sick and tired of doctors looking at people and telling them "it's all in their head". I am sick of doctors not listening to the patient, and that can only hear the lectures of the "psycho-somatic" conditions ringing in their heads. Do you think the first AIDS patient was "delusional"? I wonder if anyone paid attention to what was going on with him, or was he simply shrugged off as someone who needed "help" until he died?
I totally agree that there are many things that people can become "sick" with just because of stress or mental illnesses. However, just because we can't see them doesn't mean the illness is not there. We can't see coronary disease, but it is real, wouldn't you agree??? We can't see HIV, but we know it's there and we don't see it until it manifest itself AIDS. We can't see Rhuematoid Arthritis, until it starts to twist and knarl the joints in a person. I can tell you from first hand experience that RA is very real and VERY painful. It has to be to be literally making the bones and joints take a new shape.
We need to give people the benefit of the doubt when they tell us about symptoms that we may not be able to see, (such as a headache).
I think I've had my say, thanks.

Very well put jaleenasmom!
And yes, I too have heard of the numerous deaths of microbiologists, what? Isn't in the 50's now, over the past couple years? Kinda scarry if you ask me. Something's certainly going on there with out a doubt. Many people seem to think it's govenment realated. I don't know. It's a pretty sickening and disheartening thought though.
And the doctor's definitely need to acquire "listening skills" when presented with such issues and not play the physisian referral or "pass the buck along" game. It's costly and insulting!

I just *know* that more and more light will be shed on this peculiar disease and soon it will have its place in forefront of medical journals.
Too bad it has to be this way until then.

Thank you, hourglass! I feel to that it will soon be getting more attention as I am on a vendeta to see that it does. I have contacted one t.v. station in our area as of yesterday, and I have about 7 more to go. Lots of stations within a 200 mile radius of us and at least people in Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois and Arkasas will know what they have or be able to maybe identify it. At least they will know they're not NUTS. 😛
The body count of microbiologists is up to 79 since about 1984. At first it was rampant, it slacked a while and then started full force again.
That # is NOT including the 5 microbiologists that died when their plane was shot down by "an errant surface to air missle that was 100 miles off course". Yeah, right. I have ocean front property in AZ for anyone who believes that one.
Reports coming from Iraq tell of at least 300 scientists and microbiologists being executed.
Wonder why there were so many in IRAQ????? Why would Saddam have needed over 300 experts in Iraq??? Can we say "biological warfare"?
Given that this is true. I don't know the source of that information so I am taking lightly, but no TOO lightly as I wouldn't doubt anything completely right now.
As for who is behind it, there are several theories out there and unfortunately ALL of them make sense!
IF some of these scientists did actually have a cure for such diseases as Mad Cow, Alzehiemer's, ebola, flu, and figured out how to alter genetic make-up by using DNA, why would they have been killed? It's not likely government driven as it is Pharmacuticle company driven. Have they become more powerful than any government of earth?
So many theories, but I do not believe we will ever know the truth. The last death that occured January 7 of this year troubles me the most. Found having been stabbed repeatedly, put in the trunk of his on car, which was then set on fire, and burned is quit unsettling as no one saw anything! How? This happened in a Maryland parking garage.
It's scary when you know scientists who possibly had a cure for terrible diseases and was working on "new and emerging infectious diseases" are getting knocked off.
More later!

Believe this is real. This disease is spreading and pray your family doesn't get "dilusional". A friend of mine actually has this. After much research trying to help her I found that a majority of Morgellons patients are highly respectable nurses. So that should tell you something right there. Not only this is a real thing but it has a good chance of being contageous. Beware ... it could happen to you. And no one will believe you. It's a very sad story. Do your own research on it and come to your own conclusion. I guarantee it will make you think twice before you judge.

I don't know what is the matter with people who set up websites like this - I suffered (badly) from CFIDS for years and NOW it has been recognized by the CDC as an actual illness, and by Dr. Garth Nicholson as an illness with a cause (mycoplasma infection - same as Gulf War Illness and Fibromyalgia) - don't be so quick to believe STUPID DOCTORS WHO DON'T BOTHER TO DO PROPER RESEARCH - Most MD's seem to be part idiot when it comes to looking into anything new - it may interest you to know that MS was considered a hoax in the 50's and the sufferers were labeled "malingerers" - just like the CFIDS sufferers after them. Here is some info on Morgellons:
Dr. George Schwartz of the Healing Research Institute shared his research into Morgellons Disease, the baffling skin ailment that produces crawling sensations and the appearance of odd fibers. After culturing a sample from one of his patients, a bacteria that was a variant of Pseudomonas was discovered. It is found in some bottled and spring waters, he said, and was previously considered to be relatively harmless.

Schwartz speculated that because the bacteria has flagella (whip-like structures used to move), this may be what causes the itching sensation in those afflicted. "We're witnessing an epidemic of this condition," and at least some of the cases are caused by this organism, he declared. He was able to greatly reduce the symptoms in the woman who had the bacteria by giving her high doses of a sulfa drug, he added.

DONT be a dumb 20 something male who thinks he's smart because he's a SKEPTIC - you will eventually turn into a hard headed 40 something male without a clue.

I'm sure I'll do my best not to be a 'dumb 20 something male'.

Although I have to add that I believe skepticism is healthy.

See that smiley, boo? That'll be the woman you marry if you wind up a dumb 20 something, I know because I've already divorced a 40 something without a clue!
My mom has started treatment today and has discovered this disease on my step-father. He is in a nursing home which her doctor can't go into so she will have to start taking him to her and soon. He is wasting away and his mind is worse everyday. She says that his case is MUCH worse than hers, so she probably caught it from him.
You are correct, a believer. Lots of reputable nurses have this disease which could mean that people have passed through their station under their care and passed it to them without the patient even knowing that they had anything to pass. And contracting this from water may be something of a working theory now. I have contacted several people who say they do not drink bottled water or tap water anymore. They have their own distillers/purifiers. I have contacted one person in UK who also doesn't drink water "normally" anymore. He too thinks he contracted this by water.

This disease is nothing to laugh off. Read up on bioengineered substances being sprayed for agriculture. Read up on stealth viruses.
Whatever this disease is it is not made by nature.
I have lived with it for 7 years, I know.
have a look. http://photos.yahoo.com/pookalala
Get yourself a good magnifying glass and take a look for red and blue fibers in your hair brush.

Jaleenasmom, I'm already 20-something, by no means dumb, and I'm female. Other than that you're spot on.
I know some people get so set in their opinions that they are not open to any other views. That happens on both sides of the fence. It's just something you have to deal with. Personally, as I said in my first post, I think a certain level of skepticism is healthy.
There is a certain lack of evidence about this disease, despite there being so many people (you
mention 'lots of' reputable nurses) who claim to suffer from it. People are postulating different theories as to where it comes from.
So at the moment, until there is some more evidence other than personal statements, I cannot say that this is definitely real. What you were saying is very sad, but you are just a faceless name on a computer screen and, as such, could be making the whole thing up.

Phew.

Questions Questions, so many Questions.

What is this Coast to Coast thing? Is it like the U.S Version of Kilroy?

And why do people insist on believing everything they read? There is a song, the title of which escapes me now, but that goes 'Son, believe half of what you see and none of what you hear'

This post seems to be 'mad scruffy people get scabbyitis. Mystery disease suspected. Government cover up. Doctors lie and cheat in case people find out. People up in arms, my Mom/Dog/Friend/Aunties Neighbour etc had this disease where they were covered in scabs, but doctors wouldn't treat them'

I mean. really. and then, someone mentioned Doctors don't believe in MS.

that should be ME. and it's not that doctors don't believe in it, but that the symptoms of ME are lethargy and tiredness. so that could mean EVERYBODY has ME. I have Windows ME, that is lethargic and tired. and also, is the plural of Haggis Haggii?

Greema, if you hav red and blue fibres on your hair brush, I'd probably stop wearing that stripy hat.

I can't wait until I get into a position of power and find out all you nutters are right about these cover ups, Area 51, contrails etc...

If Raoul is reading this, I didn't see a thing...

Hey Matzusdog ,
I wish I had a stripey hat to blame this disease on. If reality scares you that much then you better get the hat and keep your eyes wide shut. I've paid hundreds of dollars to physicians to hear their ignorant words. Thanks , it's refreshing to get them as a freebie.

It really amazes me that some people can be so narrowminded and misinformed...(I might throw in ignorant as well.) Please do a bit more research before you casually dismiss all of these suffering people as having delusional parasitosis. Thank God I found a doctor who believed me and took biopsies of my skin and the lab actually found something. They even sent the biopsies to Raleigh where they confirmed a bacterial skin infection. I am being treated with antibiotics right now and other herbal remedies. Without the proper treatment these patients who are being labeled "delusional" will only continue to get sicker. Some will die or commit suicide, because unfortunately part of this disease is disorientation, "brain fog" and extreme dizziness and feelings of overwhelming fatique. People are NOT making this up. I am NOT making this up. My biopsies prove that. My symptoms prove that. Yes, there is a real disorder called "delusional parasitosis" but that usually occurs in people who at a later stage of confirmed mental illness. Delusional parasitosis does not happen out of the blue to well-educated, well respected, professional people, nor to WHOLE FAMILIES and to a cluster of people living in the same neighborhoods. WAKE UP PEOPLE! WAKE UP DERMATOLOGISTS and SCIENTISTS who can't see what is REALLY going on here. And I agree with the post above mine...so are the doctors that are finally "getting the picture" and giving proper diagnosis and getting their patients well and able to live normal lives again delusional as well. Actually, I think it is the doctors and scientists who so lightly dismiss their suffering patients who are the ones that are delusional. They think they KNOW IT ALL! I think I just might become the Erin Brockovich of Morgellons. I am just getting so mad!

Go home. Pick a scab or two. Have them analyzed by a lab that will say anything but "this person is delusional" and maybe six or seven people will believe you.

:P First of all, matzusdog, matzusdog, matzusdog! Don't rush to judge. Do you KNOW anyone who has this disease? Have you seen the things that people as Morgellon's sufferers have to go through? Have you had a first hand look at what these lesions look like? What you can see coming out of those lesions? Have you seen part of anyone's body getting holes eaten in it by this disease???
I have. My mother. I have seen what she goes through. What these lesions are doing to her. How they are eating holes through her nose, and I do mean THROUGH her nose! Whatever is eating my mom's nose just keeps eating and eating leaving behind necroting flesh. I am beginning to wonder if any doctor will see that something is wrong with her when her nose isn't there anymore! Maybe then they will finally look at her and say, "Well, maybe this isn't ROSCACIA after all." Lots of good that will do her then, eh? What do you think you would feel if YOU looked in the mirror every morning at a holes in your skin that just keep getting bigger and your doctor tells you it's just roscacia? Or you have one doctor tell you that you are being delusional? Only to find two weeks later that the holes are double in circumferance and depth? Would you begin to wonder if you were really delusional or if the doctors were delusional???

WAKE UP. This can happen to you at any moment, right now, in this time, and everyone will tell you you're just crazy. My mother, I, and my sister have all been put on anti-depressants and told to seek "professionl help". Funny, I thought we WERE seeking professional help by consulting a doctor.

Have the 3 of us become delusional about fatigue so bad that you don't even care if you eat, take a shower, get your bills paid, clean your home, drive, shop, go out to eat??? Have you ever awoken because you were trying to roll over in bed and you couldn't because the pain was so intense you felt like your entire spine was being ripped from your body??? And, after you were able to FORCE yourself over, do YOU awaken each morning so stiff you do good just to sit up in the bed???

I have been doing the last two listed for YEARS, and I am only 38. My sister also for YEARS and she is 31. My mom also and she is 64. Doctors can't blame this one away. All of the above mentioned, except for the lesions, we all 3 suffer. You know, we all have different doctors and my mom's is the only one beginning to take this seriously??? Dr. Jan Simms has finally realized that, even though the above mentioned symptoms can be attributed to depression, the lesions cannot. She also realizes that Roscacia dosen't cause lesions like this on the rest of your body. That illness is supposed to be confined to the face.
Posted by jaleenasmom  on  Fri Mar 04, 2005  at  03:34 AM
conclusion: to Rod also...
At first she could not accept what my mother was telling her, but when she saw the lesions and the information on Morgellon's, this little hick-
town doctor became smarter than some of the greatest doctors of our time. She actually has more common sense than the CDC.

Did thousands of people all wake up at the same time and become "delusional"??? Come now, if you say yes, you are foolish. A foolish man only hears the beating of his own heart and his mind is closed to NEW ideas and discoveries.

I have heard it said that it is better for a man to be THOUGHT a fool, than to open his mouth and remove all doubt.

Have you had your joints swell??? No, I don't mean muscles, I mean your bones??? Have you ever had a broken bone??? If so, can you remember the pain??? If not, I don't know any other way to describe to you the pain I feel
EVERYDAY of my life. If the lethargy doesn't keep me down, my left wrist and my left knee and my right foot will.

This by no means is all the symptoms that we 3 experience. It's funny how people who've never met, thousands of miles, even continents apart, have all become delusional with the EXACT same symptoms.
To me, the oddest thing of all is that NO ONE who lives with a Morgellon's sufferer thinks they are delusional and everyone else thinks they are.

Also, I don't know anything about area 51 except that it does exsist...I have seen it with my own eyes.

Secondly, I don't see the government covering up anything, what I see is them turning a blind eye to this disease.

Thirdly I have an idea that maybe YOU are the one sticken with ME. ME, I'm right, ME I'm too intelligent to believe this, ME, I think these people are looney, ME, I have trouble with plurals, and lastly, but not least, ME, I have trouble discerning abnormal (contrails, maybe this is from Mars) thoughts from normal thoughts. Normal thoughts being that AIDS is real. Normal thougts that Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is real. Normal thoughts that tell you to remember a time in American medicine when these two diseases WOULD NOT BE recognized by the medical field but are now known to be VERY REAL. Normal thoughts that tell you, yes, man HAS actually walked on the moon.
Oh, wait, did you go to the moon and actually WATCH those guys walk on the moon??? When my 100 year-old great-grandfather died in 1979, he went to his grave NOT believing that man had ever even made it to the moon, much less walked on it. But he was a little senile.

Fourthly, MS was considered a hoax in the 1950's. Doctors told these people that they were just lazy.

I am 38 with a 16 month old baby girl. I was told by doctors that I would NEVER be able to get pregnant and if I did I would NEVER carry that baby to term; that I would have a misscarriage. Then I was told I was going to have a down-syndrome child. Guess what. She's not. She is in perfect health. Doctors DON'T know everything. Seems to me with the given pattern that exsists today in conventional medicine, that doctors are becoming "Delusional of down-syndromitis".

I would love to just pick a scab and "get it over with" because sometimes I can't pick my daughter up, the only child I will ever have.

AND FOR ROD: The doctor's name is Dr. William Harvey and he is located in Houston TX. You know, the one who has quit his PRIVATE practice to devote his time to researching Morgellon's???
And not just him, there are others. I've got his phone number if you would like to call him. He charges $300 per hour for phone consultation.

Dr. Charles Crist from Springfield MO. I have his number too, if you'd like.

Or, maybe you won't contact these doctors because they will tell you something you don't want to hear...that ME is wrong.

😉

I know I'm about to write a book here, but before anyone gets the idea that I wake up stiff and in PAIN is because I need a new mattress, don't bother. I got one 2 years ago. A Select Comfort...the air bed you can adjust from marshmallow to concrete. I like the concrete setting best...

To the person who claimed the same person was writing the posts about Morgellons. The first time I posted my "rant" it looked like it did not post at all and I lost it. I had written it directly into this site, not in a Word Document and I did not have a copy of it. So I took the time to rewrite it from memory because I felt it was important enough to post here.
It is just so hard for me to accept that there are so many people out there who make fun of and ridicule their fellow human beings who are only trying to get answers from their doctors and get well. I don't know about you, but I don't particularly favor being sick. I enjoy life too much and I am usually a very positive and upbeat person. My husband counted the number of skin lesions I have last night. He had to because some are in places I can not see or begin to reach, so you can forget thinking I am creating these sores. I have 24 lesions total. Do they itch????
Yes! Do I scratch at them sometimes???? Yes! Have you ever had poison ivy or mosquito bites. Do they itch???? Have you ever scratched because of the rash or bite. I would certainly venture to say YES, you have!
NO!!!!! WAIT...........there's no such thing as mosquitoes...they don't exist...and that bite and the itching you are experiencing...well, dear...just try to pretend it isn't happening...because you know what...YOU ARE DELUSIONAL - it's all in your head.
I will say it again...GIVE ME A BREAK!

So...

What you're saying is that because lots of poeple claim it's true means it is?

Yeah, I saw Elvis yesterday. Just like many many thousands have since he died. Must be real then.

As to chronic pain, I've got my share. None of your business what it is though, just like nobody wants to hear your totally off topic complaints about broken bones.

My grandfather used to say some people talked just to hear the sound of their own voice because it made them feel smarter. He was a country bumpkin, but a SMART country bumpkin.

And I guess if you say you haven't seen Morgellons then it's NOT real????

And, no, I am not saying just because lots of people claim it's true means it is. That is weird logic, Rod, yeah nigh unto Narcissistic Personality Disorder, or, maybe you're just wet behind the ears. What I am saying is I have more proof that it does exsist and IS real more than you have proof that it is NOT.

I've never been a big Elvis fan.

I am not ASKING YOU if you have chronic pain. I only want to hear about that from people who DO have chronic pain and it makes them feel better to talk about it so they know they have support from others who walk in their shoes everyday.

I asked you if you ever had a broken bone because that is what I liken the pain to when I wake up every morning. And, yes, because I say I have broken-bone-like-pain, makes it real, whether it matters to you or not. I do not know you so I couldn't care less if you believe in Morgellons or want to hear about my "off topic" complaints.

If YOU don't want to hear them, don't read my posts.

I, however, find your posts very interesting. Why? I find the way you shoot aggresion to those who believe they have Morgellons is odd. I mean, it's like you are afraid that Morgellons may actually be real and you'll have to admit you're wrong, (NPD) but if you don't have it and you don't know anyone who does, why do you care? Why do you care what others think about it?

Are you saying you are so intelligent that you know that Morgellons is not a real disease? ME-I'm smarter!

Have you asked me for that # to call to Dr. Harvey yet?
I know that he is a doctor and a researcher.

Have you asked me for the # to Dr. Crist?
He, too, is a doctor that treats Morgellons.
And your line of work is...?
(None of my business, but I'm sure everyone would like to know exactly what kind of doctor/scientist/researcher you are and in what field? You've got to be in one of these catagories otherwise your argument REALLY doesn't make sense.)

Or, maybe it's like I said in my earlier post, maybe you won't contact these doctors because they will tell you something you don't want to hear...that ME is wrong. I asked earlier if you knew who Dr. Harvey was. No reply.

Talk about talking off the subject!

You haven't even addressed those two comments and began to give a poor analogy of Elvis sightings vs. something scientific. Something that can actually be looked at, studied and observed.

And before you ask, yes, I DO have a degree in biology and psychology.

Don't need to be a researcher. Just need to have read a few med books, and be grounded in reality.

Posted by Rod  on  Fri Mar 04, 2005  at  01:35 PM
Just got back from my doctor of internal medicine and he confirmed that I DEFINTELY have a bacterial infection and the lab in Raleigh can see it. The problem is...it is something new that DOES NOT FIT THEIR MEDICAL BOOKS. The doctor is being so supportive and took six more vials of blood to send off for additional tests, one of which is the SPEP test which is more conclusive than the PCR. He is really stumped, but he admits there is definitely something there. He confirmed I am NOT delusional! His nurse was so supportive too and they are also doing tests for parasites now. He named off a whole list of parasites that can cause some of the same symptoms I have and said I could actually have both...the confirmed bacterial infection as well as parasites. At least I feel like we might be getting somewhere. I will not waste my time responding to Ron's ignorant attitude anymore. It is a waste of energy that could be better spent doing more research.
Posted by Victoria Moore  on  Fri Mar 04, 2005  at  03:26 PM
So therefore...

...This is a bacterial or parasitical infection, and not "morgellons".

You said it.

And I still wanna see proof. Start a website with actual proof. You know, scientific proof, conclusions of AMA studies, analysis of the tissue samples, etc.

You would be SO happy if you could change my mind. And if you prove it I'll freely admit being wrong. So now you've got some incentive to go to school and become a lab tech.

Oh, and I like the way you intentionally spelled my name wrong, way too cool! Not petty or nothin.
Posted by Rod  on  Fri Mar 04, 2005  at  04:22 PM
OOPS! Sorry ROD - part of the "brain fog". It probably doesn't help that I am running a fever right now of 102 F.

Oh, Ron! Oh, I mean RoD, you're such a kidder! I bet you are a very handsome man. Probably about 6', 170, muscular, luscious, thick blonde or sandy hair and big beautiful blue or green eyes!

OR you are ugly, have bad teeth, 5'5", fat, dark brown, thinning hair and eyes the color of poo.

Silly Rod, putting us on like that! You should be ashamed! If you google Morgellons you will find more information than you ever wanted to know, especially if you reach
http://www.morgellons.org
There you will be able to see pictures, see all the doctors who are involved with Morgellons Research Foundation, and learn about what was found in the 17th century. Set your med books aside and take the time to find out WHY it is called Morgellons. It does involve bacterias, possibly fungus and definately parasites.

What constitutes actual proof? What is scientific proof to you?

Look up this word: stenotrophomonasmaltophilia.

Dr. George Schwartz states on his web site
http://www.healingresearch.org/news.html
"This has been a baffling condition characterized by pustules, the feeling of skin crawling, and the presence of strange fibers within the lesion, the fibers may be blue black or even red. I have finally cultured the bacteria causing this disease it is termed stenotrophomonasmaltophilia this organism is extremely resistant to most antibiotics..." , you can read the rest there.

Technically, I am a lab tech and I will be happy whether you change your mind or not, as I know Victoria will agree. You see, we have nothing to prove to you, after all. We only debate on forum boards! You have to find "convincing material" somewhere besides here. We only have opinion here, right?

We only need to prove to doctors we are in fact, infected by something, and like Vick's doctor, they won't know what their seeing and we'll have to show them what you don't accept as proof now. At least that's the way it's turning out with my mother's doctor and for everyone I know who has Morgellons so far.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Poor Rod! What's good enough for a doctor isn't good enough for him!

I have to admit that I do admire Boo's weighing of facts before finding them fiction, as you would do the same, of course.

When would you accept Morgellons as a real disease? (I hope you NEVER get it!!!)

If it's on the news would you believe it?
If it's in USA Today? Washington Post? New York Times? AMA Journal?
Psychology Today?
You may never tell me your answer to these questions because it's none of my business. (I feel that you might be that type of person. NPD) Then again, you may tell me because I've stated that you probably won't.
Or, you may avoid this topic altogether...

:) Lots of Love to you, Victoria. I know you feel bad. Brain fog does suck like a tornado as well as does a fever.

Poor Rod! Do we need to start a new topic for Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Is it Real!? I mean, my goodness! He ignores so much of what you've had to say and only pounces on the one fragment of information that he thinks he can use to prove HIS point!
NPD is hell to live with. But it is fun when you can debate with them like this!
You just never know what they will say next...or won't say next, because they feel like they are giving you too much information about themselves for you to use against them.

WOW! Way to go jaleenasmom! Tell it like it is girl! I would love to challenge ROD some more, but I just feel like "poo" tonight and will have to save it for another night!

I spelled your name wrong? Surely you don't mean the time when I used a capital letter to start it?
Other than that I spelled it the same way you did. Go back and look.

Oh, and like i keep insisting.... Show me some freakin proof. PROOF. You know, actual empirical evidence.

Sorry, but just saying something is true doesn't make me believe it.

...And by the way, just because one doctor believes something does not make it real. An anthropologist from WSU went to his grave less than ten years ago totally convinced people were crazy because they DIDN'T believe bigfoot exists.

Irrational belief in the face of proof is one thing. But if you just believe the claims of every person on the planet without researching them at all, hell, you end up with stuff like Heaven's Gate.

Rational belief in the face of absolutely no proof if what all humans should strive for. This, and the quest for truth. Like i keep saying...

PROVE IT.

Huh??????
Posted by jaleenasmom  on  Fri Mar 04, 2005  at  07:53 PM
Double huh???????????? What a narrow-minded fool. I am telling you, he is not worth the effort to try to convince. But I do have my voodoo doll over in the corner and perhaps we could cook up a spell to cast Morgellons on him, then he can walk around and try to convince people that HE'S not delusional. UGH!!!!!!

Maybe I am totally wrong about you, Rod. Maybe you are not NPD but perhaps just unbalanced...
Posted by jaleenasmom  on  Fri Mar 04, 2005  at  08:03 PM
Yes, when all else failed, play dumb.

Also, if this is what you mean by no longer responding to me, I wonder just which one of us is hanging around demending attention (NPD anyone?) (the DSM IV defines this as one of the symptoms).

I myself could not have cared less if you ever responded to my post. Still don't. But it's fun to watch you act like a tool in defense of something you CAN NOT prove.

I keep saying it, you keep ignoring it...
PROVE YOUR POSITION

All ya gotta do is show some empirical scientific data and, like I said, I would consider this proof. If it was proof, I would be proven wrong. I would admit it. Now get off your hiney and frickin prove it, don't just sit around scraping crap into jars and pickin it up with tape. ANALYZE IT. Or get a CREDIBLE source to do so. (the neighbor's dog's personal trainer's canary just won't do, sorry)

 Oh, Victoria! You slay me! Could we actually do that you think? My step-son lived in New Orleans for 4 years while in the Marines. He can probably turn us on to a good person to help us with that...hehehehehehe
You are sooooooo right! Narrow-minded and how. I mean for someone to COMPLETELY IGNORE the web sites listed, and all the information that is available and then say "prove it". I mean really. He's totally ignored virtually everything we've said.

I think if he ever contracts Morgellons he could never convince anyone he isn't delusional!

Huh????
Posted by jaleenasmom  on  Fri Mar 04, 2005  at  08:27 PM
Ahem...at the risk of topping 2000 words I will repeat my earlier post to you...

Maybe I am totally wrong about you, Rod. Maybe you are not NPD but perhaps just unbalanced...

I am not the one here demanding PROOF...you are
That means YOU want someone's attention...and to be right. You finally had to drag out the DSM didn't you  Of course, you would have to try to wound me somehow, personally, to prove my point
I may PLAY dumb, but I am by no means dumb...unless of course you are also a misogynist, then I will be dumb only to you

You miss the point, Rod! I do not have to convince you of anything. You have to convince me!

I don't have to get anyone CREDIBLE to analyze it.

Someone CREDIBLE already is
Dr. William Harvey, just for starters...but remember, you'll pay $300 an hour to talk to him!

YOU WANT THE NUMBER???? ROFLOL!!!!!

You go to a website devoted to hoaxes and then complain when people there do not believe you without proof?

Yes, and I'm 100% sure that your "lab-tech" skills quite allow you to diagnose any psychiatric problems in anyone who disagrees with you, based on a few hundred words on a computer screen and no face to face.

I will repeat it again...
PROOF.

PROVE me wrong. Not only for yourself, but for all sufferers of this disease. Go to school and learn how to research it properly, then research it properly, then PROVE what it is. Is it too much to ask for some freakin PROOF instead of BS personal attacks? I guess maybe with you it might be.

I would break off this inane and pointless crap, but I'm having WAY too much fun repeatedly asking for PROOF and repeatedly not getting ANY.

(And you'll notice that I, unlike some other people out there, do not automatically leap to the personal attacks as soon as someone disagrees with me.)

Sure, send me the number of your "doctor". If he is in legitimate public practice, he will not care that you have given out a published phone number.

If he truly believes that this is a problem then he will have no qualms talking to someone in another country at his own expense to get the truth out there.

And yes, just like in court, the burden of proof is on the claimant (that is to say plaintiff) to prove his case, not the defense to refute it.

Try going to court and telling the judge "I don't have to prove he was screwing my 4 year old, he has to prove did not." See how that works out for you.

You are right. I would LOVE to go back to school and get my master's degree, alas, my uh....personal ailments...hinder me.

"lab tech" skills in psychology??? Lab maybe...

I come to a hoax site not complaining...I am actually having fun
Maybe I am here for someone to prove me wrong. Prove that what I experience and what I have seen with my own two eyes cannot be so, because if it is...God help us all...

Have YOU thought about going to school to prove your opinion to yourself and to others?

I have to say, as far as for me, you have to DISPROVE what I experience and have SEEN.

Would you like to see pictures of my mom's lesions???
My step-dads scabs?
