La Pascualita, the Mexican Corpse Bride
Status: Urban Legend
This has already been posted in the hoax forum, but it's too good to ignore. Reuters has reported on a Mexican urban legend concerning a mannequin in the window of a bridal gown store in the city of Chihuahua. Local rumor has it that the mannequin is really the embalmed body of the former store owner's daughter. The former store owner was called Pascuala Esparza. La Pascualita means 'Little Pascuala' (i.e. her daughter). According to the legend her daughter died from the bite of a Black Widow spider on her wedding day, so Pascuala embalmed her and stood her up in the window of the store. It definitely is an urban legend because it would be impossible to embalm someone and have their flesh be preserved that perfectly. For some reason, people tend to think that it's easier to preserve a body than it actually is. For instance, there's also the urban legend about a dead wife used as a coffee table, in which a guy seals his dead wife inside an airtight glass coffin which he uses as a coffee table. In real life, it's not that easy to preserve a corpse.

In regards to the comments about the Dead Corpse Bride. I personally wouldn't say it's impossible to embalm the body of a dead person - simply because it's been done before.
Remember Rosalia Lombardo?. She was an italian girl born in 1918 in Palermo, Italy. Well she died on Dec 6 1920 of pneumonia and her body was embalm and preserved in the Capuchin Catacombs, Palermo Italy.
Still to this day it is report her body and internal organs are is perfectly intact from the day she was embalm. She's been buried for 90 years.
The story itself about La Pascualita is abit far fetched.

HAHA give me all the version you like but it's BS if you ask me i'd be more inclined to believe Pennywise the Clown is living in the drain outside my house.
It can't be proven that human flesh and bone blood and guts and all the rest can be turned into hard plastic.
RE: jessica in EL centro CA. Um there are people called artists/painters is it very very likely the owner of the store had someone paint the lines on the Manni's plastic hands.
I don't doubt La Pascualita was a real person - i would even go as far as saying she was probably a town hag or not liked by many in the township at the time of her death - which is possibly where this stupid story originated from.
I can look at all the videos on youtube related to this hoaxes but that doesn't mean their real accounts. Stand in actors are a great way of making something unreal look real. Computer effects, imagery and so on.
I've been told she was beheaded, raped and murdered, fell from a bridge, got bitten by a spider, got bitten by a rattle snake, got ran over by a car, fell from the bridge and hit her head on a rock.
Yeah right and i suppose someone is going to claim Pandora from Avatar is a real planet.
Oh and also Abel in Ontaro,Canada if you really do have the picture you claim your aunt took why not post it here to share with everyone i'm sure if you did it would put everyone's minds to rest she is not real.

Oh another thing she doesn't even look Mexican;. But i guess when your body has been preserved in plastic for yearsyou'd look like a white person too.
You think with all the walking she does behind peoples backs she'd walked out side and catch some rays.

Has anyone ever thought to have x-rays or CT Scanning of the body to see if there is a skeleton inside.
