Jesus in a Warming Tray

Status: Pareidolia
image Shortly before Christmas workers at a Florida restaurant noticed that mineral deposits had created a face-like image on the bottom of one of the warming trays they were using. They knew right away that this had to be the face of Christ. (Who else would appear on a warming tray?) According to this MSNBC article "A spokesman for the Stadium Club says they will not continue to use the pan." In other words, Jesus has ruined a perfectly good warming tray. Thanks a lot, Jesus. I assume the next stop for the holy warming tray is eBay.

Man, if that's the face of Jesus, I just might become a Hindu.

That's a face?? The Jesus thing has long passed the point of absurdity, but this goes above and beyond the call of the greedy...

The thing that interest me is that we cant be sure that jesus looked that way, since the original bible propably did not have a picture of him, or even a discription of him. So how come we have come to accept that face as that of jesus?

This should just be catagorised as a so called "lusus naturae."

That ain't Jesus, that's the devil...

Doesn't look much like Jesus to me. Looks more like some kind of "chibi-Osama bin Laden" running with his hands in the air and wearing mittens. Maybe some other heavily-bearded face (I have terrible facial recognition).

Sort of the opposite of finding a Jesus face.

Definitely Osama bin Laden!
I don't know why everyone automatically assumes Jesus or Mary has appeared. It's not like anyone actually knows what they looked like.

You'll notice nobody ever sees the face of Jesus (or Mary) in embarassing items, such as, er, marital aids, or clothing stains, or suchlike.

if theres anything slightly resembling a face, it must be jesus it seems.... who are these people who "discover" these holy artifacts? do they just wander around all day staring at objects before shouting "JESUS IS IN THE WALLS!"

how come no other religion seems to have this

Other religions and countries do have this habit, somewhat. There's a little slideshow at the BBC of some of the recent ones.

Looks more like one of the apes from the original 1968 movie Planet of the Apes.

I take that back, that ain't the devil... Look closely at the whole pan... it looks more like a fairly poor drawing of Hank Williams Jr. wearing mirrored sunglasses and a cowboy hat... oh, wait, maybe that is the devil...

Gee, and many blames Jesus on this.... Anything of them are fakes, you know? Do we suppose to worship a warming tray or a tree or a wall? Maybe some other time Jesus' face will appear on a cow (HOLY COW!) or on a pair of shoe? And of course, they'll be on EBay.

Ahahah, I thought I was the only one thinking that the picture resembled Bin Laden rather than Jesus.

I saw a kid vomit at A&P one day, and the pile of vomit looked like Jesus.

So, they never mopped it up.

It's the A&P at the corner of Lexington and Burns in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, if you want to see it.

It stopped stinking a few years ago, and they put a glass dome over the vomit-Jesus so you can see it.
