Iron Hymen

image Iron Hymen is obviously a spoof, but it's still funny. It pretends to be the homepage of the "Abstinence-Only Education Program... produced by the US Dept. of Health & Human Services and the White House Office of Youth Purity." It offers the First Lady's list of 'Ten Things Every Girl Should Know About Boys And Their Vile Private Parts', as well as testimonials such as this one: "thanks to Iron Hymen, my baby cave is better guarded than a maximum security prison". It seems to be a spin-off of the WhiteHouse.org parody site. Probably not safe for work because of the general subject matter.

What a great campaign!! I think I'm got to get behind it by getting my t-shirt. I bet the women will love it.

That site is really very good, but it still hasn't surmounted the basic problem of trying to satirize something that no sane person could really take seriously to begin with, such as abstinence-only education programs.

Every time something like this comes up, it reminds me of Tom Lehrer, one of the greatest satirists of all time. He is still alive, but apparently hasn't written any new material since the early 1970s or so. When an interviewer asked him why he gave up doing comedy, he answered (at least partly seriously) that satire became impossible when they gave the Nobel Peace Prize to Henry Kissinger and Le Duc Tho.

OMG, that's fffuuuunnnnnnnnyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But seriously, what have the boys today got to complain about? When I was 14-15, I was convinced that 75% of the girls I knew in H.S. were putting out like whores. It just seemed strange, somehow, that I couldn't get any of them to put out for me. That would have to wait a little while longer. Nowdays, I KNOW that age group is putting out like whores.

Putting out like whores?
You mean they were charging?
:wow:
That's a little more 'pro' than it ever got in my school.
Not by much, though.

Figure of speech, Boo - not charging, but just about as often. Hey, today they've got snapping bracelets that describe various sex acts desired or offered, based on the color or combination thereof on the wearer. No verbal communication needed for that in the H.S. hallways, anymore. But, guess you're not the parent of a 15-year old girl, or you would know that. Glad mine's grown up.

A sensible approach to abstinence is needed urgently. Here in the U.K., the government's sex websites encourage children to have sex. If the free contraception fails, or they don't use it, they can ask about an abortion. And they keep reminding the youngsters that consultations will be totally confidential. Their parents need never know. Why should they? The Government wants their souls.

The REAL government agenda is to enslave the population through any means possible by depriving them of their self-esteem, so as to do whatever they want, without opposition. Sex is just one method. Why do you think it is promoted so much?

It is a cleverer way of total dictatorship than the likes of Idi Amin, Castro, Saddam, etc. could manage - and much more effective and difficult to escape from.
