Harvey Nichols Labor Giveaway
The Guardian reports that numerous pregnant women have been seen lurking around branches of the UK store Harvey Nichols. Why? Because the women heard a rumor that Harvey Nichols gives out £500 gift vouchers to women who go into labor in the store. Supposedly one woman who was going into labor in the back of a car even took the time to phone the store to find out if the rumor was true. I guess she would have directed the driver to make a beeline to the store. However, the rumor is not true.

Well, I told my husband that for the next baby I'm going to ingnore the hospital completely. I might just excuse myself to the bathroom one day & come out w/ the infant in my arms. So, if I find a location that's giving out money for giving birth...I'll be sure they're bathrooms are at least tidy. Might not be a bad idea.

This reminds me ogf the old rumor that if your child is born in a Volkswagon, they will pay all of that child's college tuition.

The way I heard it was, if your child is born in a Yugo, you get a one-week vacation in Kosovo, plus 100 Yugoslavian dinars.

From what I've seen there is not a lady amongst the bunch when they're lookin to give birth.
