Do babies born on buses get free rides for life?
Status: Urban LegendAbout a week ago Lydia Irvin gave birth to a daughter while riding on a New York City Transit bus. Apparently it even specifies on the baby's birth certificate that she was born on a bus. So now Ms. Irvin is hoping that her daughter will qualify for free bus rides for the rest of her life. She'll just have to wave her birth certificate at a driver, and be able to go wherever she pleases. After all, according to urban legend that's the freebie that bus-born babies get.
However, the transit authorities have splashed cold water on Irvin's hopes: Gee, you would think they could at least give her a free one-month pass, or something. (Thanks, Joe)

It is a common mistake. You get to ride free for life if can prove that you were CONCEIVED on a bus.Posted by wdl in honolulu on Fri Aug 10, 2007 at 10:02 PM
I have a friend who's parents couldn't make it to the hospital in time so pulled over to deliver the baby at a circle K. It actually lists the Circle K as her birth place on her birth certificate.Posted by Razela in Chicago, IL on Sun Aug 12, 2007 at 05:52 PM
