Creepy Cat Photo

This eerie photo of four cats has been attracting attention online. (It recently made it to the front page of digg.) It's the cat in the car that gives it that extra creepy twist.

There's been some speculation about whether it's photoshopped. Unfortunately, the photographer, Ivan Capraro, hasn't posted any info about the image. But my guess would be that it's not photoshopped. I'd say it was either a lucky shot, or a cat was purposefully put in the car for the shot. (via A Welsh View)

I don't know about the cat in the car, but cat eyes always glow like that if you use a flash. When photographing cats, "green eye" is a far more frequent problem than "red eye" for photos of humans. No matter how wide their pupils are, when that flash goes off their eyes light up like little beacons.

Cat eyes glow like that because they're reflective on the inside. It lets the photons bounce around inside, increasing the chance they'll be detected by the rods/comes thus giving cats extraordinary night vision.

And makes 'em glow!

Technically we can only see 2 white spots in the car. Not a cat. And I think the cats in the alley way look awfully photoshopped.

Too much emphasis is placed on the "Is it Photoshopped?" question. So what if it is? It's still a neat (eerie) photo

What's eerie about this picture?
It's just four cats and a car.
Get a grip.

Isn't it the same cat, photographed four times, walking towards the camera? Maybe there's another picture out there with a fifth cat leaping towards the camera, jaw stretched open to savage the camera holder...

I really must stop reading Stephen King books...

I'm a bit late with this so nobody's going to read it (and what does it matter anyway?) BUT - it's photoshopped. Because I've manipulated the image in photo-editing software and there's no hidden detail at all in even the cat that gets the most light - they all remain perfect silhouettes. My guess is that a picture of three not-black cats has been gone over with a digital paintbrush, to make four black cats with glowing eyes. And by the way, it doesn't seem to be a flash photo (no shadows behind the cats). So there.

Hi all, just to say that the photo is not photoshopped!!! Just black and white from colour and a little increased contrast!
The eyes in the car i don't know, maybe a reflection... i do not know if there was a cat inside!
Good though that you like it!
