Cow In A Car
Status: Undetermined (but I think they're real)
Two pictures, found on flickr (here and here on Alex Laurie's photostream) of a cow in a car:The info accompanying the images states that they were "taken by a friend of a friend in Slovenia." It looks more like a calf than a full-grown cow, so I suppose it would be possible to stuff the animal in the back of your Volkswagen and hit the highway with it. Given that there are two images, and they don't appear to be photoshopped, I'm inclined to say the photos are odd, but real.

The car indeed has Slovenian plates and is driving on Slovenian road towards Ljubljana, the capital.

They haven't made an air freshener strong enough to do that in my vehicle. If that cow was still alive in that photo (cramped spaces or not) I bet it took care of business before it was removed from the back of that vehicle... and if it was dead, the smell would still be bad enough to call the vehicle a "total"... it's a smell that WON'T go away any time in the near future.

I've known people here in the states that have transported calves in their cars, so it isn't unheard of. Though it looks like the poor thing just barely fit in there. I hope they weren't going far!!

Real or not, it's just plain wrong--and NO, not because the poor thing would soil the vehicle. It's cruel and ignorant, period.

The guy/gal driving this vehicle is the animal. Its so cruel. Cows are not meant to be transported in cars. I hope he shit all over the car.

What kind of dumbass would transfer a cow in his car? That poor cow.

I don't know about cows, but my mother once transported an alpaca in her car for a friend. Alpacas, though, are quite docile animals; she said it lay down for pretty much the whole trip and the worst disturbance was from other drivers slowing down to try to see just what it was in her back seat, so she put up a sign saying "I'm An Alpaca" to satisfy their curiousity. I don't remember which car it was.

I've seen people moving small cows, horses, camels, goats, and whatever that way often enough. Usually the animal doesn't mind it at all, although sometimes the owner will sedate it a bit to keep it from panicking and thrashing around if somebody blows a horn. The main problem is, as some people have already noted, that livestock tends to not care much where it makes a mess.

On buses in Mexico, I've seen people transporting pigs, goats, dogs, iguanas, parrots, turkeys, and lots and lots of chickens. No cows on the bus so far, though.

Hehehehe, yes I remember these pictures circulating the slovenian sites a while ago :D And while this car does have Ljubljana plates (the capital), the coat of arms is of some smaller rural area within the capital administration area.
