A Hand of Corn
image Virgel Fisher owns a hand of corn. He inherited it from his grandfather. But this is the part of the story that I don't understand. He says that when his grandfather found the 'corn hand' two of its fingers were missing, "so his ancestor searched until he found them, using pins to reattach the dismembered digits". Does this mean that the fingers were an artificial add-on? Or had they simply broken off? Either way, Virgel could probably make a bundle if he sold his 'corn hand' on eBay, especially if he claimed that it was haunted. (via The Anomalist)

They must have simply broken off, going by that description. It looks like it grew in that shape, unless he did more than just pinning on the fingers and went so far as to sculpt it somehow.

Weird. is there such a thing as corn thats grown so it looks like a hand? Or is it just corn that randomly grew into something that looks like a hand?

I wonder if this would help Little Billy Evans somehow.

How would corn stay okay that long? Even if it were dried to preservce it...handling would cause kernals to fall out, right? It just seems weird.

My grandma found a chunk of wood that looks like a hand. I'll try to get pictures of it.
