C. Yeager of the Phillies

Baseball fans attending the recent Fan Fest in New York City had the chance to get memorabilia signed by C. Yeager of the Phillies. The problem: there is no "C. Yeager" playing for the Phillies. The man in the Phillies uniform was really just a guy who likes to dress up as a ballplayer so that, for a few minutes, he can enjoy the adulation of kids... before the police haul him away.

The Sporting Blog (who has video of the guy signing anything people stuck in front of him) writes: "He works for a regional sports media company in Philly and never played ball beyond high school."

I assume "C. Yeager" was a fake name.

C. Yeager, you know: the guy that broke the sound barrier with his pitch ball... ;-p

Too funny!!! The guy looks like he had fun doing it, all the way up to & including the police escort out of there...

I think he has a plane hanging from the ceiling of the Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

This story is very much like those of other celebrity impersonators who run up bills and take advantage of clueless fans.

It seems that most people wouldn't know a real celebrity if they saw one. As long as one acts the part...

I'd file this one under "Brush With Greatness".

This kid is a total turd. I went to college with him and all he talked about was how good the Eagles, Phillies, 76ers, and Flyer's were. He's not even really from Philly, hes from a suburb like 35 miles away but he walks around like he is from the West side. He doesn't like Pat's or Geno's, because he prefers Cobb salads and avocado slices. I even once saw him wearing a Met's hat, Giant's zip up sweatshirt that covered a devil's shirt, and knicks basketball shorts. Total lame-ass. If there was one person I met who is a complete loser, it is this kid.

C. Yeager is a real person and an awesome one at that. I've know him since he was a little kid. He is a true blue Philadelphia fan, has been all his life. He is a huge Phillies fan and wears the uniform not for himself but as a true fan in support of the team he loves. The truth of the matter is that at the event in New York a young boy approached him and asked for his autograph. Rather than disappoint the boy, he agreed and signed his own name C. Yeager. People are writing such hurtful thing about him when all he was trying to do was put a smile on a young boys face. If you knew him, this wouldn't surprise you because he has the biggest heart. Next time you see him at a game, go up and shake his hand. He's someone you don't want to miss out on in life.

Susan what you fail to realize is that he was deceiving fans no matter how you slice or dice it. He was creating the impression/idea he is affiliated with the Phillies either in a player capacity or working for them, NOT as a fan.
