Bigfoot Hair
A mysterious clump of hair found in the Yukon earlier this month turns out (surprise, surprise) to NOT be Bigfoot hair. Instead, it's hair from a bison. The sample was analyzed by David Coltman, a geneticist at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.
This isn't the first time 'Bigfoot hair' has been analyzed and shown to be something other than fibers from a shedding Sasquatch. It's quite remarkable, if you stop to consider it, that despite being frequently sighted and heard, all the Bigfoots out there have managed to avoid leaving a single physical sample of their presence (such as hair, skin, or bones) that can be verified by researchers. Although they do leave a lot of footprints. Skeptics would say that this is clear evidence that Bigfoot doesn't exist. But the true believers continue to insist that we simply haven't looked hard enough yet. (thanks to Gary and Kathy for forwarding me the link)

I heard a rumor that Bigfoot endorses LifeWave patches. He says they help him walk all over the Northwest without ever leaving any samples of his DNA. Something about "non-invasive nanotechnology."

i think this is clear evidence that Bigfoot is indestrcutible and incorruptible, and hence should be hailed as our King.

I heard that the reason no one can find Bigfoot is because he's so busy at his most recent gig...
He's Mr. Six from the commercials!!!

Nonsense, it all comes together with just a little bit of thought: when not sighted, Bigfoot is wearing an alien suit which prevents any biological sample from being left behind. That's obviously needed anyway when he enters his hidden lair in Hollow Earth Bigfoot Territory. By means of teleportation. Ok, I'll stop.

I thought those giants they keep digging up are actually bigfoots. Bigfeet.

I think bigfeet, bigfoots what ever the pluaral is, must have powers that make them undectable.

Well, non-existance would certainly help with that. (You WERE kidding, right?)

"hair, skin, or bones" -- heck, if he exists, he has to leave droppings, and those would be characteristic of whatever-it-is.

I love the Bigfoot debate. It's like debunking Jesus or God. Believers will believe no matter what... but at least there is SOME evidence of the existence of Bigfoot.

My brother's got really big feet (size 13 or 14, I think). I don't know if his DNA would be all that interesting, but at least he probably wouldn't turn out to be a bison. So that U of Alberta lab geneticist might want to get in touch with my brother's barber.

Do you think you can find someone willing to wander the wilderness, scooping up every pile of animal poop he finds so it can be tested and identified? (see what kind of jobs you get when you drop out of school, kids?)
I just see it as reassuring that scientists are still bothering to test bigfoot hair at all. It's a victory for empiricism. As sure as they are that there is no bigfoot, they are still going to bother to apply the scientific method to the evidence and find out for sure, case-by-case. That's good science, friends.

Actually, there ARE people who do this more or less full-time. They're called field biologists, and most of them either have PhDs or are graduate students. Which is to say, they have studied long and hard to win the privilege of scooping up every pile of animal poop they find.

The explanation of large footprints but no other physical evidence is simple -- the creature is all feet, hence the name "bigfoot." The feet are bare because the creature is bootless, as is the search for it.

Well, that's all the evidence *I* need.
Uh, would you care to explain to us how you "researched" Bigfoot from India? I assume this involved a lot of Wikipedia and other websites. Sorry, but I wouldn't call that "research."

Bigfoot is BullS**T

This is a bad sample. Other tests on other samples have come back positive for "unidentified primate", both for Yeti and Bigfoot. That's too shocking for me to digest at the moment.
