Ban On Anime

Personally I love Anime....and I also happen to love God. I'm a Christian and I think anime is a valid form of media. It doesn't make sense to ban Anime...as it would just pave the way for the liberals to ban CHRISTIAN MEDIA!! Morons.

I don't think I was more amused by any other thread in any other forum ever.

Anime isn't evil at all, it's a form of art and the idea to ban anime is ridiculous and to send people to jail for art is even worse.It violates our first anmendment!

Anime can't be blamed for the destructive behavior of teens in America. In most cases, music and t.v. aren't even involved. And the way I just read how someone called it a "perverse evil from the dark land of Japan" makes me wander if people with this petition are doing it for youth or for drama.

There are many anime's out there and you'd be stupid to only look at two and blame the whole thing. Some anime's are not all that bad. And it's pointless to argue over two of them. 1)I agree that Bush is a dumbass and needs to be shot. HOWEVER!, he cannot ban Anime from America. It was not in the powers given to him by the constitution to censor the shows we can watch.

Tia Marie, about fifty years ago or so there was a movement to ban naked animals. Granted it started as a hoax, but it existed. Guess how far it got. Even if someone wants to ban anime, THEY CAN'T! Isabell, you haven't thought this through. Consider the following: 1) There is no way the President, any President, can ban anime; 2) There is no evidence that G.W. Bush has even heard of this "proposed" ban; 3) There is no evidence that anyone is even considering this "proposed" ban; 4) An online petition is meaningless; 5) There is no evidence, even presuming the petition is valid, that the organizers have made any effort to forward the petition to any elected official; 6) Any elected official discounts all petitions, a point I made earlier in the thread, and would probably completely ignore an online one anyway.

Well... frankly anime shouldn't be banned, but hentai should be. The later has no artistic merit, coming from someone who enjoys erotic artwork, and around 80% of it features non-consensual sex often ending in a snuff scenario (I.e. the woman is killed) or sex with minors and quite often a combination of the two. As something without artistic value, and without message that should be banned and not protected under freedom of speech, as the 'artist' doesn't mean to express anything. I found anime porn on my boyfriends pc, I totally flipped. Now he is banned from watching anime unless i know what it is about and he doesn't go on the pc anymore, but that is due to him always being at my house and when he is at home he has a full house so he can't.

I'm seriously about to think that people don't even pay attention to the saying, never judge a book by it's cover. People who have seen an anime with porn automatically thinks that all other anime are porn??? Do you see porn in Digimon or Sailor Moon or whatever? If your going to say that in Sailor Moon there are naked people going through transformations, what about in Disney cartoons, where people are taking a bath? Hi there, I am true fan of anime, the reason I liked anime in first place was because of cartoon called "Sailor Moon" I used to watch on TV, which is kid cartoon, I am now all growing up, and I have read more mature manga/anime these days. I do agree, some anime/manga are not safe, yes....

But I can tell u, there is one manga I want totally banned that is shota, I did bit of research on internet when I was young and I felt sick and ran in bathroom, when I spotted a pic of rini doing pervent thing. Rini is Sailor moon child daugther, u know "chibi moon", doing some thing with darien which is like child porn is so wrong, all I wanted was a cute nice pics like magical powers back then when I was young, I didn't understand it back then, but it did shocked me, but I just moved on by growing up, I still continue like anime, but I hate shota.

I only like, normal manga/anime these days, and I believe yaoi and yuri, can be sexual but not as bad as shota, plus most yaoi have mature reasonable thing in it, like business men who are age 30 and over are in comic based on love, all about relationship, which is nothing wrong with that. if people don't like sexualy part in the comic, then skip the pages or don't buy it, that what I do, I think people should respect the manga artist who put lots effort in create these mangas.

I believe who are not aware of manga/anime these days, should give a go, on watching safe, or awesome anime, like example "Spirited away", "Vampire Knight", "h20" and many more.

I like reading yaoi because, I only read love part and romance LOL, some time, it give me better understand why they turn gay in first place, and I love comedy parts or emotional parts too.

Yaoi is created for girls fan in Japan but the yaoi can be read for boys too. I think other culture should be open minded a bit more and try understand why Japanese manga artist created these style of books, there are many group of manga/anime these days, and I believe some people should be careful what manga/anime they pick.

I mean shota should be banned, no thx, that stuff make me sick, not normal, same goes for loicon, they are wrong, shame on them to even create that.

But I do support anime/manga for normal stuff, like shoujo/yaoi ^_^ and I love the horror manga too.

Manga/Anime do not take over people lives, sometime people just read manga for enjoyment.

To be honest Hentai can be bit overbored but I think it a boy comic for pleasure, to be honest I have boyfriend right now LOL and I read one his comic, I was shocked at first, I only tho he like anime becuase of hentai, but I found out that not true, it just boy comic.
