Angel Crashlands On Car
Status: Seems to be some kind of viral marketing campaign
Here's a bit of a mystery. Last week Liam Yates went to pick up his car from the Borough Green train station, where he had left it parked, only to discover "the bonnet, windscreen and roof of his car caved in, with one 8ft wing protruding out of the front, and another sticking up out of the top." It looked like an angel had crashlanded on his car. This Is Kent reports: The wings were matted at one end with what looked like blood, as if they had been ripped off. And in a grisly twist, the "blood" was also smeared around the shattered glass and on "bones" protruding from the feathers inside the car. The overall appearance looked like a giant bird or an angel had fallen from the sky.
This incident doesn't seem to have been widely reported (I can't find any pictures of it), but it did inspire a number of theories, which are: a) it could have been a practical joke; b) the wings could have fallen from an aircraft; or c) it was a publicity stunt devised by Google (Google denies this, and I don't understand why people linked this to Google in the first place). Yates seems to have quickly disappeared from the scene without bothering to phone in a police report, which would suggest that this was some kind of bizarre prank or publicity stunt.
Update: MadCarlotta found a site, fallenwings.org, that has some pictures of the car with the angel wings crashed into it. Fallenwings.org is a blog that tracks sightings of angel wings throughout the world. It's affiliated with loab.org (the League of Angel Believers). These sites and the car incident all seem very much like a planned viral marketing campaign. It reminds me of those videos that circulated last year of giants being found in various parts of the world. That turned out to be a viral marketing campaign for a new Playstation game.

Kinda confused:
-What kind of aircraft uses bones and feathers for wings?
-How come there is not even one picture? I guess ppl in England still don't have camera's in their phones?
-Where are the wings now?
It would definately be cool to see, wish there were some pictures. I say publicity stunt.

Mmmm, tastes like chicken.

Man, that would make an extremely cool and grisly picture. I really want to see that. Seems like publicity stunt to me, also.

This must be a hoax...more people in Britain have mobiles than landlines (home phone costs are astronomical, but mobiles are much cheaper here than in the US) and everyone has a camera on their phone. SOMEONE would have taken a picture of it were it true. Even though this happened in Kent (the Kentucky of England).

Maybe somebody just wanted to fly.

I found some pictures, it looks incredibly lame and obviously fake

Not sure what this fallenwings site is all about, but a quick google search on LOAB, lists it as the League of Angel Believers.
I fully admit, I'm not really trying to dig up anything right now, only have 10 mins left on the puter while my kid watches Go Diego Go, but a quick glance at http://www.loab.org makes me think they might be behind it as they mention "increasing sightings of fallen angels"
I'll read more later, there are apparently more photos of this "increasing phenomena" on the loab site

Um, "Status: Undetermined"???
So you think an angel might have really crashed into this guy's car?
... anyway ...
loab.org's site says it is for "... people, religious or not, who believe in angels." If non-religious people believe in angels, what, exactly, do they believe about them??
By the way, most, if not all, of the accounts of angels in the Bible (and there aren't too many) make no mention of them having wings.

Well, after reading and going to all the links on that loab site, I'd have to say it'ssome kind of advertising/marketing stunt.
The verbage on leonardsblog.org is extremely suspect, it stinks of B-rate copywriters.
If Hollywood hadn't already bastardized and destroyed Wim Wender's Wings of Desire (and had the absolute cheek to put someone like Meg Ryan in it) I'd have suspected it was for a remake of the film, but who knows.

Well, I figured it wasn't a "real" angel wing. But I'm still not sure if it's a prank or a publicity stunt. But I'm leaning heavily towards it being some kind of publicity stunt, so I think I'll now change the status to that.

My gut feeling is its a hoax/marketing gimmick, although I admit I have no idea what kind of product this could be an advertisement for. A movie (Dogma 2?) or car insurance possibly...
As mentioned by Grain in the first post: Where are the wings now? And not just these wings. There have been other sightings with photographic & video 'evidence'. Why is it that no-one has taken these wings into a lab for testing? I think even a cursor glance by a proffessional would spot if they were fake or not.
I know for sure if I ever bump into a set of 18 foot wingspan wings with blooded stumps, I'd take LOTS of photos AND hand them over to the authorities for testing.

Hmmm, I think I might be more likely to run in the opposite direction.

Angels don't have bodies! They can take on disguises and manipulate matter, but in their natural form, they are beings of pure spirit, and couldn't be "hit by a car".

Why do I now have an image of an angel with Groucho glasses on and pulling hankerchiefs out of his jacket sleeves going through my mind?
Ladies and Gentlemen, Angelo the Magnificent!

Of course, there is always the possibility that someone had all they could take of that annoying Philly cream cheese wench and her man servent Albert.

I don't know if this is a hoax or not but in response to the others that say there is no mention of angels having wings in the bible, this is simply not true, there are over 30! It also says they have 2 e.g. 1 Kings 8:7. And yes they can appear physically, they even had dinner with people, and were sexually desired! Also you can see some video footage of it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOpRIeePUQ8

To all of you Bible believers who are paying attention to the signs of the last days; if this is not a hoax, then I would say that one of God's angels just kicked one of Satan's angels Nephilim butt. There is another video of what these creatures could look like on You tube called Fallen Angel.
If you read the Bible regularly, then I would suggest you read the Book of Enoch. Not for the faint of heart.

This reminds me of that simpsons episode where homer discovers an Angel, but it turns out to be a publicity stunt for a new mall. haha! for some reason theres a relation to the Simpsons for almost everything in life!
