Twiggy ad ruled misleading
The UK Advertising Standards Authority has ruled that an advertisement featuring Twiggy is misleading. The ad has Twiggy claiming that "Olay is my secret to brighter-looking eyes." In fact, the brightness of her eyes in the photo is due to digital manipulation. Link: sky.com |  |

Ah, but you misunderstand, OLAY is a new computer program that works like Photoshop in allowing digital alteration of photos.

With a tag line of "the secret of my brighter looking eyes" one might think that the substance was applied directly to the eye. At least that's what popped into my little brain when I read it.The ruling sounds fair to me. The basic claim in the ad is that using Olay makes Twiggy look the way she does in the picture, so if the picture has been doctored, the ad is a fraud.
