Sarah Palin in a Miniskirt
Status: Fake
McCain announced his decision yesterday (Friday) that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be his running mate, and already the photoshopped pics of Palin are starting to circulate.

Actually, this picture of Palin in a miniskirt seems to predate Friday's announcement, but now that she's on the ticket with McCain it's begun to appear everywhere.

It definitely is photoshopped -- a case of head transplantation. The real picture of Palin, from which her head was lifted, seems to be the one below, posted on Flickr by "marymary81" on Feb. 1, 2007.

Update: I added the image to the Hoax Photo Database.

That picture may be fake, but she WAS a beauty pageant contestant a few years back.

Why would you even care if a politician has at some point in their past worn a mini-skirt?

It's all about image, Pedro. It may be no big deal for a normal person. But a VP candidate is not a normal person. They're supposed to project an air of authority and gravitas, which they can't do in a miniskirt.

For instance, Obama is a smoker (trying to quit), but a picture of him smoking would project the wrong image to the voters. Thus, his campaign has gone to extraordinary lengths to block all such images.

Remember that picture of Dukakis in a tank? For a normal person it would be no big deal to look stupid in a tank. But as a presidential candidate, that image alone probably cost him the election.

Until the GOP proves otherwise, I'm still convinced that it's real, and I'm going to continue to tell everyone I know that it's real...especially those nice old, religious, conservative voters in places like Tennessee and Kentucky. I suspect they would be completely turned off by a picture like this, and might even stay home in November.

Karl Rove has taught me well.

Just wait until those pictures of Obama in a miniskirt are leaked.

"It's all about image, Pedro."

Which is a pretty succinct summing-up of everything that's wrong with American politics.

I thought for sure that her candidacy for VP was going to be the real hoax...

Speaking of bizarre stuff about Sarah Palin, she has five children, whom she named Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper, and Trig. Obviously, she hates her own kids. Willow and Piper are weird but sort of believable as names. But Track and Trig??? What kind of names are those??

Maybe Sarah Palin just drives around town and picks the names for her kids from things she sees as she goes.

"Look, a discarded trigonometry text book!"

"Hey, a railroad track!"

"Up in the air, a Piper Cub!"

"Oooh, an empty bottle of Harvey's Bristol Cream."

"Honey, is that an elm tree or a willow? Willow? Gotcha."

The one in the miniskirt is the real pic. Than fangirl lifted the face from it, and pasted it next to her own.

(Just joking...)
