Cursor Kite
Status: Real
Has a giant cursor been photoshopped into this picture? It looks like it, but the cursor is actually a kite created by Tim Elverston of WindFire Designs. It's not yet for sale. In the larger version of the picture, you can see someone on the right-hand side holding the strings to keep the kite aloft. More pictures of the Cursor Kite can be seen at the WindFire Designs site. We're waiting for the version featuring a realistic shadow.

I actually don't buy this one. It's too perfectly flat in all the pictures.

I'd like to double-click what that cursor is pointing at...

It's too perfect with the shadow to be photoshopped, and you can see the sky through the thin kite material anyways.

Oooh, the perfect kite for us geeks...

That's so cool! I want one, I want one, I want one.
Wait, I suck at flying kites, nevermind.

I wish the larger image were a bit. . .well, larger.

Hmm, seems that clicking on it changes the ~. You may want to copy paste that url instead.

This pic is from the Burning Man Festival held in the northern Nevada desert every Labor Day. We actually saw the kite and many other strange things that week!
