Bigfoot Beer, Part 2
About a month ago I mentioned reading about a beer named Bigfoot Barleywine-style Ale. Well, I found some of it on sale at my local beer store and just had a bottle of it. It's very good, but also very strong (almost 10% alcohol content), so I doubt that it would agree with anyone who's used to light American lagers. While I was at the store I also noticed a beer called Moose Drool, so I had to get some of that also. It'll be a night of Bigfoot and Moose Drool for me. Wish me luck.

Good luck Alex.

I've found label s like that are, quite unfortunately, crap beer. I wish they weren't, I'd love my email to be ialwaysdrinkbigfoot@yahoo or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Well, what can you do when you don't own a brewery?

Mmmmmmm, moose drool.

By the way, that email, if it works, is not mine. I'm not sure why it turned one email into a link and not the other email.

question

Yup, the period at the end of the sentence screwed it all up. No wonder I suck at programming.

Hey, Alex, if you want a bottle of real moose drool, let me know and I'll fill one up for you while I'm here in Alaska.

tongue wink

Hey, I like Moose Drool! All my Montanan friends swear by it! It's not a joke beer really, it may have started as one but it seems to have developed something of a cult following. AND it's pretty darn good.

Its hard to judge beer quality from a label and many of the better american craftbrewers like playfull names and labels as well. So you just have to try them all to see if you like them wink

It looks like the Moose Drool isn't half bad:

Moose Drool was excellent. It's a dark beer with what seemed to me like a hint of a vanilla flavor (or was that the flavor of the drool?). Very nice. The Bigfoot Ale was also excellent. I'd gladly have them both again.

Hey, Moose Drool's from Montana? I'm only 2 hours north of the border.

Maybe I will yet be known as ialwaysdrinkmoosedrool

hmmm

What's it worth? Yes, I know, its weight in gold, but how much cash for how many?

How much did moose drool cost? I can't actually remember. But I wouldn't say it was cheap.

I'm one of those people who just throws things in the shopping cart without looking at the price. Drives my wife crazy.

I know it will be cheaper than here. I AM in Canada, the land of overtaxed alcohol. We pay anywhere from $18 during the day to $24 at night where I live for 12 beer.

And a 26 oz bottle of tequile here is $32.

Tequile? Wow, how'd that slip by?
hmmm

Moose drool, my favorite thirst quenching beverage! Those labels are great.

I actually had a dream about a drooling moose once. The moose was on the cover of a greeting card, drooling in the moonlight.

Yes, aussie beer - most common is VB, Carlton, or XXXX (Yes, the inspiration for naming the Last Continent on Discworld! No, there are no places called Dijibringabeeralong.) BTW, not a beer drinker...

grin My wife and I drink moose drool 95% of the time. I home brew, but love Moose Drool. Have made a couple of beers like it, but find it bottled or on tap at almost all the places we go.

And to think, I just passed up an opportunity to buy a bottle of Fat Bastard wine. I think I'm gonna go back to the store and grab one just for posterity.
