Morgellons Disease: Is It Real?

Sufferers of Morgellons disease complain of invisible parasites biting their skin. And they get skin lesions from which sprout strange fibers. And mysterious black spore-like specks appear on their skin. Cases of this strange disease seem to be spreading, especially in the Bay area. One theory is that it has something to do with Lyme disease. Or it may be a case of mass delusion. The medical community seems to think it's mass delusion. Most people who show up complaining of these symptoms get diagnosed with 'delusional parasitosis', which is a psychological problem in which people imagine that they're infested by parasites. Not having any medical qualifications at all, I won't weigh in on whether this is a real disease or mass delusion, but some of the behavior of the patients does sound suspiciously bizarre. Take the case of Theresa Blodgett:

She gathers up the black specks, the mysterious fibers and the small, fuzzy 'cocoons' she finds on her skin and around her home. She tapes the macabre samples to typing paper, but she said no doctor will analyze the collection. Physicians who glance at the specimens dismiss the lot as stray hairs, clothing fibers, scabs and other common household debris, she said.

So either she really is suffering from something and is desperately but unsuccessfully trying to get doctors to pay attention to her, or she's obsessively collecting house dust and stray flecks of dirt and convincing herself that these things are parasites attacking her. I have this disease. It is real. The same stuff that can be seen in the silentsuperbug.com video can also be seen in my skin. My houseplants also caught it. I used to think that it was just threads from the environment, or whatever, but I recently found the threads connecting leaves together, extruding from one leaf, and entering another, making a definite bond between the leaves. I was better off when I believed it wasn't real.

I have come across a few web pages about Morgellons disease since one of my sister in laws has contracted some weird skin condition her sister is convinced is Morgellon(she thinks herself it´s either scabies or lyme disease).

However,even http://www.morgellons.org deserves a critical analysis.According to the skeptical site http://morgellonswatch.com/ one of the founders of the Research foundation is diagnosed with Munchausen by proxy...several times.No info about Morgellon is available outside the internet.
And,CDC(http://www.cdc.gov) have NOTHING on Morgellons on their web site.
I don´t know if it´s real,but everything you read on the net isn´t true,no matter how many PhD:s with neckties that these sites refer to.

Why do so many people feel threatened by this very real disease?
Is it ego versus exceptance??
Until people like robbie actually contract this new disease then will he begin to understand the scope of reality and the basis of what's happening here

I will post pictures if and when I get a digital microscope. Bryan, my fingers look like yours! Anyways, my wife doesn't want me spending money on a picture-taking device (I know, only about $100, but she doesn't see it as important!). However, I know many people would look at what I've seen and have the same 'holy crap!' reaction that I had. If and when you see the stuff that I have seen in my plants, you'll know that it is morgellons.

I've heard that the scio biofeedback machine has help people with this problem. Perhahps it would be a good idea to do some research of your own in this field.

Hi. I am totally creeped out! I have springtails so bad on my property both front and back, that in the summer, they come into my home by the hundreds! I found out that they are parasitic just from going through websites trying to find out how to get rid of them. Now I am scared to death! Will I probably get infested with them too?

You will be infected if you are bitten by springtails that carry different parasites. Those parasites stay underneath your skin (cutaneous larva migrans CLM) and possibly get into your body system (organs). Normally healthy people are not easily gotten infected.

You need to call pest control to get rid of them.

Sad to say,an alarming rate of U S citizens are getting all types of new viruses/illness/a breakdown in immune systems all caused by the new biotech foods and clothes and more produced by billion dollar industries who are currently paying off the cdc, fda, ose,congress and sooo many more. It's all about control....they can kiss my ass.
What do you think happens when sooo many get ill,I propose a new medicine/vaccine that the same billion dollar industry owns will introduce it to americans making them even more money......
it's all a spiral affect-the rich get rich the poor get sicker((actually many rich are getting sick also))
time to take a stand people...........
write to your congressman and propose that as an AMERICAN you have the right to choose what's put in your food and clothes and that you want them properly identified with the correct labelling
this has been done in over 80 % off food currently on the market and now we have bacteria treated new *algadon((bio tech breed cotton)) that causes severe rashes-must wash first in BORAX
do yourself a favor and get EDUCATED now before it's too late

I have had this condition for about 15 years. It started back in 6th grade I broke out in a series of hives that itched, and burned i could not sleep. After mt whole body was attacked it faded away, it did this several times until I learned how to cope with it. I noticed when I was seventeen it would get very severe in extreme conditions i.e. sun ot moisture. Not hot or cold but wet and sunrays did the damage. I WILL NEVER FIGURE THIS DISEASE OUT. About 1.5 years ago I met my soon to be girlfriend she was a healer that did something to my feet that saved me. I cannot explain it but it worked. She is now in jail and I cannot contact her. I hope you all infected can find a healer out there I dont think any medicine or powder can help you. She also advised me to quit smoking weed as well as drin king alcohol. I am sure if i was to start that again it would come back with 10 fold. I hope you all get better dont give up. Its a test that is given, and patience will be your only friend.

Hi, I live in Maine and have Morgellons.
This started about 6 months ago as a "rash".
Now I have many lesions on my entire body.
The don't seem to heal and reopen afer each shower, no matter what water temperature.
I shower anywhere from 3 fo 6 times a day , just to try to stop the itching, as it is almost unbearable...
My fibers aer getting longer in size and I can see that some are intertwined with each other!
So far, I have been to 3 doctors who have diagnosed me with delusional behavior and Neurtotic Dermatitis.
They will not look at the fibers I have carefully colleced and placed in clear tape!
The "Morgellons Hope" web site has been a great help..

I speak to DermaTechRx at least once a month and continue to buy some of my products from them. A new thing they are suggesting is the use of far infared to get rid of these nasty bugs. Anyone ever heard of this?
i am considering purchasing a far infared machine from them.
