Toma Sota Balcu
The latest craze sweeping through LiveJournal, Xanga, and other blogging communities involves people posting this message on their blogs:A girl died in 1933 by a homicidal murderer. He buried her in the ground when she was still alive. The murdered chanted, "Toma sota balcu" as he buried her. Now that you have read the chant, you will meet this little girl. In the middle of the night she will be on your ceiling. She will suffocate you like she was suffocated. If you post this, she will not bother you. Your kindness will be rewarded.
It obviously seems to be inspired by the movie The Ring. Other than that I don't know much about this (such as who started it, etc.), though I do know that I'm now safe.

Okay. Here is what's wrong with this. A "homicidal murderer"??? Redundant!!! "By the hand of" would make more sense. "The murdered" could not chant it, but the murderER is supposed to have. How is a ghost going to suffocate someone? Anyway, it's "as" instead of "like." And how is it "kind" to post this? Or are they talking about some other form of kindness?
These hoaxes are very tiresome. Why do people forward them? I know many otherwise sensible people who do.

My crack at how is SHOULD read:
In 1933 a man buried a girl while she was still alive, resulting in her death by asphyxiation. While burying her, the actor chanted an incoherrent stream of bullshit. The person who heard the chanting was an ass hole and didn't save the girl, instead deciding to start a random internet post some 72 years later. Rumor has it, those that read the incoherrent babbling will see the little girl appear on their ceiling, whereupon she will cause their death via asphyxiation. It has been rumored that the only way to prevent the otherwise imminent death is to repost the phrase on the interweb and potentially endanger many more people, which would make the people guilty of reckless endangerment and potentially murder, as the law holds that you may not choose to save your own life under a threat or coercion by endangering the lives of others. Judge Blackstone held that "the noble man, when placed in this situation, would give his own life to save the others."
So there you have it...repost this, and if you believe its true, you're guilty of at the very least reckless endangerment or attempted murder.
