Rent A Midget
image What's the one thing sure to liven up any party? How about a midget? That's not the answer that would have occurred to me, but it's the premise behind Rent A Midget, a California company that rents out midgets (or little people) to 'hang out at parties'. Based on their website, this company looks real enough, though the only way to be certain would be to go ahead and try to rent a midget through them. The midget entertainment options range from "Midget Strip Shows, to Christmas Cookie Servers or Office Pranks." As shocking and slightly cruel as the idea sounds, I suppose it's no different than what circuses have been doing for centuries (i.e. using midgets as entertainers).

I'll say it again:
I don't see what's so dadgummed amusing about being small (or big).
Does anyone know if there's also a "Rent A Tall, Scruffy Guy" agency out there? If so, maybe I'll sign up to make some extra bucks from people who are so incredibly boring they have to pay someone to "hang out" at their parties. I can serve cookies, too.

I've been reading the THOUSAND AND ONE NIGHTS. In ancient Araby, the funniest thing in the world was hunchbacks. Whole stories are funny just because they include a hunchback.

Comedians are funny. Well, some of them are.

Carl, I've always wondered why toilets seem to be so much funnier in Britain than they are in America. Just mention a toilet or a bathroom and the Brits will die laughing. Some humor seems to be very specific to a certain cultural context, even if no double entendres or inside cultural references are involved.

The midget thing, though, seems to be riotously funny to some of my fellow North Americans, but I just don't get the joke. Somebody's short. So what?
Another thing I've never gotten is why cross-dressing (men wearing women's clothes, usually not the other way around) is supposed to be so funny. I guess I'm not too well integrated into my own culture (which revelation will be no surprise to people who know me).

This probably isn't real, but small people who make a living out of having other people laugh at them annoy me to no end. By encouraging 'short' jokes, they're ruining it for the rest of us who want to be taken seriously. Sorry. Rant over.

Hi folks, I'm 25, full of the Zezt of life and I would really like a chance to talk and have a giggle with people who have shared in a bit of my life. I'm 4ft 6" and I think the most annoying part of my life is the fact I'm already going bald (Damn it!!) I've been teased most of my life, but I now have a strong group of friends who love me for who I am and I have adopted the name 'Willow', as I have grown fond of the affection it is said with by my friends. I love eating good food, drinking good drink, and having as full a life as my little legs allow. Please get in touch, it would be great to speak to others in my position

Willow, I'm going bald too. So I got a buzz cut. Makes it less noticeable.
