Is This Jaleel White?
image A photo of a young, trendy-looking guy has been doing the email rounds (click here for a larger version), with the caption: "This is Jaleel White." Jaleel White, of course, is better known for playing the character of super-nerd Steve Urkel on Family Matters (I've also heard many rumors that he plays the Mr. Six character in those Six Flags commercials, but I don't think that's true). I guess people are just amazed that White wouldn't be more like Urkel in real life. As for whether the picture really shows Jaleel White, I'm not sure. There's a recent picture of him on his blog on NBA.com. I guess it could be him if he shaved his hair off. (via thighs wide shut / You Can't Make It Up)

The face shape in general is good but the eyebrows are too arched, it may look a lot like him but it's not

No, not him. It's close, in that he's black and a man, but completely not him in any other way.

Too bad there doesn't seem to be any way to contact Jaleel via hia blog, otherwise we could just ask him if that's him.

If it's not him, I'll eat my shorts! I've seen him recently on VH1's "I Love the 80's". Why would anyone think it's not him? And, yes, I would say he's a flamer.

No it is definitely not him. Did a google search for "jaleel white" and sandrarose (http://www.google.com/search?q=sandrarose+"jaleel+white"&hl=en&lr=&filter=0). And found this link: http://www.codypowell.com/goulash/archives/000376.html and a link to sandrarose.com (click on the google cached version). According to the sandra rose website, she says "PLEASE NOTE: The man in the pictures being widely circulated around the internet is NOT Jaleel White. He is a well-known Atlanta celebrity stylist who does not look at all like Jaleel White. The pictures have been removed from my server." So there we have it. Although, I admit, the prospect of it being JW was funny, not because of the guy in the photo's appearance, but because it seems so out of character, even for JW.

Not him. I saw him at Stevies on the Strip in S. Central. Dude I saw would never look like a flamer unless it was for a roll. I don't remember him doing anything other than sports writing lately.

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) --
Jaleel White, who played 'nerdy'
neighbor Steve Urkel on "Family
Matters" found dead Monday.
He was 29 years old.

White was pronounced dead on arrival after admission to an LA hospital early Monday morning. The death is being investigated as a suicide.

Born Jaleel Ahmad White, he began his career at the age of three acting in television commercials, before landing guest spots on shows such as "The Jeffersons" and "Mr. Belvedere." It was in 1989 that White landed the role that would make him famous, playing wacky neighbor 'Steve Urkel' on the ABC program "Family Matters."

Following the cancellation of "Family Matters" in 1997, friends claim White became obsessed with the character, and grew despondent, despite further successes as star and producer of the UPN sitcom "Grownups", and as a writer for NBA.com

Neighbor and friend, Bradley Spencer alerted police after hearing what he described as "a loud bang" coming from White's
Los Angeles apartment.

Authorities state that upon entering the home they discovered
a young African-American male with an apparently self-inflicted
gunshot wound to the head. Also found was a note, which read
simply "Did I do that?", a popular catchphrase from the show.

"Jaleel was an uncommonly good man, an exceptional role model and a great comedic actor," said William Bickley, who created the series, and Thomas L. Miller, one of the executive producers, in a joint statement.

"We feel privileged to have known him and worked with him. He'll be missed and remembered every day by his many, many friends," they said.

Actress Kellie Williams -- Laura Winslow on the series -- described White as a consummate professional actor. "Everyone adored him," she said.

"We have all lost a dear, dear brother," said Reginald VelJohnson, who played Carl Winslow.

White, an only child, is survived by "cousins, aunts, uncles, and wonderful friends," Bickley said.

When I first saw the pic on google I wanted to cry and started to believe it was true because my dad said that some people say that White is gay. But I don't want to believe it. So no, it is not him. Look at the man's hair line and eye brows, it can't be.
