Coke vs. Pepsi
According to the Independent, researchers have proven that the difference between Coke and Pepsi really is all in your head. Apparently the popularity of Coke's brand image causes people to think Coca-Cola itself tastes better, even though it really doesn't taste very different from Pepsi. As the article says: "When asked to taste blind, they showed no preference. However, when the participants were shown company logos before they drank, the Coke label, the more famous of the two, had a dramatic impact: three-quarters of the tasters declared they preferred Coke." I've long suspected this. Personally I can't taste any difference between Coke and Pepsi, but I have a friend who swears passionately that there's a huge difference. Now I can show him this research to prove that he's simply been brainwashed by advertising. Oh, and the Pepsi Taste Test also turns out to be nothing but hot air: "The findings suggest there is no scientific basis for claims made during the Pepsi ad campaign in which testers purportedly chose Pepsi over Coke when they were not told what they were drinking."Posted By: Alex | Date: Mon Oct 18, 2004 | Permalink |

Pepsi is only popular because of their Frito-Lay division. PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division generates 60% of PepsiCo's profits. That's how they afford advertising unlike other generic colas, and they can't come up with any good ads, so they just diss Coke. Like I said, if it weren't for Frito-Lay, Pepsi would be just a generic cola as it tastes just like generic colas, while Coke has it's own taste and is the real thing.

i personally think that pepsi goes down easier, and that coke has a very nasty tasting after taste and if you were to give me the test i would be able to tell the different, though some people may not people have diverent taste buds, and i think others taste buds are stronger and/or weaker then others. but to me i think pepsi taste 100 times better then coke

When I was a little girl my Dad always bought Coke. When Pepsi started their Pepsi Points, Pepsi was a lot less expensive so my Dad started buying Pepsi. When the prices evened out, he went back to Coke, I stayed with Pepsi! I still drink Pepsi almost exclusively and I can TOTALLY taste the difference.

Coke and Coke Zero both have a deep rich cola flavor. Pepsi and Diet Pepsi both have a largely sugar flavor with the cola flavoring much less perceptable. Unfortunately in America, obesity and diabetes are among the top health concerns due to widespread sugar addicition. Pepsi plays into this condition. The differentiating factor in all their products, even their diet products, is an extreme level of sweetness. The "Pepsi taste tests" conducted in the 70's and 80's have been subsequently evaluated that people will tend to select the sweeter of two beverages in a blind taste test environment.
I just tried the new Gatorade G2, another pepsi product, and guess what. Even with less sugar it tastes even sweeter than Gatorade.

just don't drink any of those colas to often. that's why you american are fat ... you drink too much soft drink and eat too much fast food !

I just read all of the last comments and am doing a project on New Coke... thanks for not giving me anything to work with people. Even though my great grandpa helped found pepsi, I think coke does go better with rum so thats all that matters... I HATE YOU GREAT GRANDPA! maybe if his partners didn't sell the company to the current owners i wouldn't hate him as much cause i would have been rich!

lol well i'd say pepsi is much better than coke because of its rich taste and its 'refreshing' appeal.
Coke in my opinion is rather... unhealthy for people and that it can affect people mentally.
thus they can be too hyper-active. Another problem about coke is how their ingredients make it to addictive thus making people feel its a necessity to buy coke. whereas pepsi on the otherhand doesnt have that much of a negative influence in the human body

whats with everyone, this is an extremely stupid war between 2 different drinks that taste kind of the same. If i was given the blind test, i'd drink both and say "thanx for the free drink". you people are extremely screwed up.
