About the Museum
The Museum of Hoaxes is dedicated to promoting knowledge about hoaxes. (Click here for opening hours, etc.) On our blog we post about dubious- sounding claims, and whatever else strikes our fancy. The site is also home to the Hoaxipedia (the museum's online encyclopedia of hoaxes), the Hoax Forum, and the Top 100 April Fools' Day Hoaxes.

The museum was created in 1997 by Alex Boese. He's assisted by a staff of deputy curators and docents. Alex is the author of three books, most recently Elephants on Acid: And Other Bizarre Experiments (which has nothing to do with hoaxes). Whoever runs the site should make it clear it's a parody. If one reads it halfway carefully, it's obvious it is, but I think he or she should make it clear to protect himself or herself legally.

There are some people who are throwing a fit about it, claiming "identity theft" and such.

if the author made it clear, they would sell fewer books on the site.

i read the post about Hariri's assasination in Lebanon and the Syrian involvement in it, and it did not seem like a parody at all. this post got about 50 comments all as serious as the post itself. shortly thereafter, the blog was shut down.

I just wanted to say that I always liked and had a great deal of respect for President Clinton. As
a Canadian I think he worked hard for his country.
I am a woman that was born with Cerebral Palsy who
lives with HIV/AIDS. He came through Vancouver, BC
twice now and I hope that one day I can Thank him for his work around HIV/AIDS.
He would have my vote in what ever he does.

President Clinton, I just heard on the news that you were asking for all of Hillary's supporters to donate to her campaign. I would like to know how to donate. I think you were the best President and I so very happy that you are out there helping Hillary. No matter what the news media say (they just report outragouse things that mean nothing to the TRUE DEMOCRATE. For everyone who is endorsing obama (senators and such) all I have to say is when their next election comes up (and we will remember there names) they will not get the TRUE DEMOCRATE VOTE--example--bob casy, leahy, ect. We want Hillary for her knowledge, judgement, and the love she has for the American people. We know that she will help this country get back to where we were when you were our President.

Lamont won the democratic run off election as the democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate. The Republicans returned Liberman to the senate!
