In the latest hoax to hit eBay, someone attempted to auction off the state of West Virginia. Bidding hit $100 million before the auction was yanked.
I got an email from the girl (not guy) selling the Air Guitar and Ring of Saturn on eBay. Turns out she has a few other items for sale, such as a Ticket to Heaven (in case you're worried about going to Hell), and the Answer to Life and the Universe. I guess she's mastering the art of the Strange eBay Auction. WhatTheHeck.com has a great collection of such eBay Oddities. Included are hot-sellers such as Ghost Poop and A Lie.
A visitor points out that the same guy who's selling an on eBay, is also selling [url=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=1467&item=2946033745]a ring of the planet Saturn.
A brand new air guitar and drum set. Bid on it now at eBay.
If you missed the Ghost In A Jar thing on eBay, Reason Online provides a summary of it. Unfortunately the original ghost in a jar page has been pulled from eBay, though it's been archived here. But now the Ghost in a Jar has its own weblog on LiveJournal. And of course hundreds of ghost-in-a-jar imitations are now flourishing on eBay. And there's even an entire website devoted to ghost-in-a-jar stuff.
