People often assume that this photo of a northern pike swallowing a rainbow trout fingerling must have been digitally created. It wasn't. It was taken by Anchorage Daily News photographer Jim Lavrakas on Jan. 22, 2001 at the Alaska Department of Fish & Game aquarium in Anchorage. The photo is sometimes titled "Pike's Peek" or "In-Digestion". It won many awards, including a second place World Press Photo award (2002) in the Nature & Environment category.
