In the beginning paragraph, you bring 3 possible truths about crop circles:

1) "signs left by extraterrestrials": Apart from the fact that there is absolutely no evidence of any kind about any alien connection with crop circles, would aliens come here (just) to get involved in this kind of a game? For what purpose? Making fun of us? Confusing us?

2) "unusual weather phenomena": How can a perfect Mandelbrot set (or other perfect geometrical shapes) be created by (erratic) weather phenomena, whatever these may be? (This can be immediately and safely dismissed as a possibility.)

3) "handiwork of hoaxers": This makes more sense. Yet, how comes that no one has been "caught" on the spot doing this work? How can these guys achieve such elaborate results overnight with just their hands and some tools? Some have tried to prove that this is man-created handiwork by trying to (re)produce it (using planks, ropes, etc.). However, they could only produce simple and rough artwork at best -- nothing to compare with most of the elaborated artwork we have seen in crop circles!

So, none of these 3 possibilities can support a sound explanation. Even if the word "handiwork" is replaced with just "work", meaning that there is a machine that reproduces these shapes, which are "prefabricated" and then just "imprinted". This could explain the accuracy of the lines/circles and the speed with which they are then reproduced. Yet, this would not explain the huge size of the shapes and the fact that no "third party" has ever seen or knows about the existence of such a machine ...

I believe that, if they are actually a hoax, crop circles are the biggest hoax of all times, the mystery of which has yet to be resolved! And it deserves to be a subject of its own in your main menu list!

The only possible explanation that I can come up with for crop circles would be the force of gravity on the earth is stronger in certain points than on than on others, how could they be fake most would take more than one night to be done by man.
