This was sent to me recently under the title "Unbelievable Picture" which should be the first clue. This was the caption to the photo:
This picture is unbelievable. This photo was developed from a camera that was found in the WTC rubble. God bless this poor guy. This picture is not doctored.

Personally, I have never been to the observation floor of the WTC but I would assume it's glassed in or otherwise enclosed. Secondly, it was a warm Fall day on the 11th. Why is this guy dressed for sub-arctic temperatures? Thirdly, why is the railing to the right of the subject in shadow when he is clearly standing in bright sunlight? Fourthly, it would be very easy using PhotoShop or some other similar programme to add that plane and have it be more or less undetectable.

By the way, love your web site. The historical hoaxes are great and the site on Canadian World Domination is priceless. It's all true though, you
should think about removing it. The best part of that site was actually the American reaction to it. Is irony an unknown form of humour South of the 49th parallel?

Although it is not a popular point of view at the moment Einstein probably said it best when he said he thought nationalism was a form of mental
illness. I found your page through a google search on hoaxes if you're curious. I was looking because this pic pissed me off, the same way those sympathy mails do and I had to say something about it to someone.

Hey, great site! Just to let you know, though, the big white guy in the sailor suit on http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/photos/wtcphoto.html isn't the Pillsbury Dough Boy (which looks like this: http://www.doughboy.com/Images/Doughboy/meetUpperLeft.gif), but the Stay Puff Marshmallow Man.

there are hoaxes about 9:11 such as a guy that rode the rubble to sAfety on his briefcase (or something) and it says you can see "the devils" face in the smoke of the WTC

The tourist is Peter Guzli, a 21-year old man from Budapest, Hungary. The photo was taken on November 28, 1997 on the observation deck of Tower B at about 10AM. The photo is facing north. Peter was in NYC visiting relatives.

The plane photo is by Jonathan Derden. It shows a United Airways 757-223 on the tarmac of the Dallas/Fort Worth Internat'l airport. The plane is fully loaded and ready to take off. The photo was taken on June 15, 2000 from the AA takeoff tower.

Peter made the hoax photograph using Adobe Photoshop 4 (the software's watermark was still embedded in the jpeg that was circulated throughout the Internet). Hoax was meant as a joke for his friends, but it quickly got out-of-hand when the photo was released to the public in this email:

Fw: Different Perspective on the New York Tragedy

Attached is a picture that was taken of a tourist atop the World Trade Center Tower, the first to be struck by a terrorist attack. This camera was found but the subject in the picture had not yet been located.

Makes you see things from a very different position. Please share this and find any way you can to help Americans not to be victims in the future of such cowardly attacks.

Peter became embarassed by the whole affair and stayed annonymous until a Brazilian man falsly claimed he was the tourist.

The schmuck at the WTC is indeed a hoax, but ... the first plane to hit was an American 757 which is exactly the plane on the photo. On top of that the plane-angle, sun-angle and weathertype are OK for a Sept.11th but the guy is dressed too warm.

When I saw this picture I immedately knew it was a hoax. At the time of the attacks, the observation deck of the WTC is not yet open for tourists!! I was there 10 days before it happened!

I have seen probably 20 versions of the "tourist guy" photos the first about 5 years before the WTC one, i thought when i first saw the one on the tower "well it was just a matter of time before one of him there turned up".
he has survived avalanches and forest fires so i am pretty sure that a plane crash/building colapse would not even faize him
