They are taking over!!!! 
Scientists from Japan and Spain have discovered that one single mega colony of Argentine ants covers most of the world. Ants across Europe, the US and Japan are now known to be closely releated.
In Europe, the colony stretches over 6000km along the Mediterranean coast, in the US the colony stretches along the California coast for some 900km and in Japan, a huge colony has been built on the country’s west coast.
Writing in the journal Insect Sociaux, the researchers said: “The enormous extent of this population is paralleled only by human society,” and concluded that humans helped the mega colony form by transporting the insects around the world.
