One of our pet spiders decided to hatch a lot of young today, so we’ve been busy hunting and vacuuming the little beasties up.

Sorry, I’m taking too long to reply.  My first comment was in relation to busy unproductive days…

We don’t get funnelwebs this side of oz (thank goodness!)  We just get redbacks (which I believe are related to your black widows)

I kicked a black widow out of our garage a few weeks back, it had been there a while.
Made its web about a piece of trash which I finally decided we had room for, so out went the spider

Me, moving this rubbish very carefully to the bin, watching for any sign that the spider might get nasty.
I think it was just scared and hid from me.
