Hmmm. . .it seems that the Russians are perhaps agreeing with the North Koreans :
Or not .
Eeeeek! LaMa’s in cahoots with the Ruskis!
Well, I wonder what Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Nesterenko really said, then. Did he really say what he was reported as saying, and if so, why? Perhaps he was just confused.

Perhaps he was just mistranslated.

North Korea actually claims a satellite is now orbiting, happily broadcasting The Great Leader’s favourite revolutionary songs…
What kind of songs would those be, I wonder?
It would be the height of irony if he chose something like John Lennon pieces.

Well, all that I can find on their ministry website is this short little blurb :
“Commentary by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the launch of the North Koreans of a satellite into near-Earth orbit.
On the morning of April 5th, North Korea carried out the launch of a satellite into near-Earth orbit. According to tracking by the Russian airspace and outerspace control, the path of the launch did not go over Russian territory. The satellite’s orbit is currently being researched. North Korea informed the Russians before launching. We ask concerned states to exercise restraint in action during this event, and to let forthcoming information guide us regarding the launch in North Korea. They should keep monitoring events closely, and keep in touch with and keep talking with all groups who are concerned.”

Apparently, it are the songs “Song of Kim Il Sung” and “Song of Kim Jong Il”.

I have an old Cold-War period book called “Missile Envy”... alludes to the phallic pissing contest that Little Men in High Places seem to enjoy… “My missile went very high, and is very strong”... “No, your teeny little missile missed completely, and is now in pieces”.... “MY missile would go much higher than yours. It is Very VERY big, and will bring new respect and fear”... “No, MY missile is faster, and can go farther, and will violate your country in ways you’ve never dreamed of”... Yawn, get a room. I say we should bribe the North Koreans with food and Baywatch DVDs, then they’ll beg us for more. Couldn’t hurt

Wow. I wonder where the inspiration came for those song titles?

If I was going to have a song about me, in my honour, I’d give it a really heavy-metal name.
Like Thunderf**k . Or God’s Bitchslap .
