No, it doesn’t sound very ‘fun’, but better than being blasted by a comet or asteroid (commonly used in the past). Besides, ‘not breeding’ in itself doesn’t take the fun out of much since birthcontrol is easily accessed.
The idea of removing the human species though isn’t really new even in some theologies. Many humans equate themselves with a virus…we do gorge on our resources and leave impossible waste and messes behind that even we don’t know how to adequately clean up. Now that we’re traveled into the outer regions of our planet’s stratosphere, we’re even contaminating well beyond.
So far we haven’t found (or created) another creature that can devour or convert the garbage we make, like the dung beetle does, or buzzards etc.
In short, I suppose we are the topmost food chain’s complete idiots, but we’re also capable of great beauty, dreams and compassion toward our fellow Earthlings as well as darkness, hate and defilement.
Isn’t ‘nature’ the same though? Loving and cruel.
