I read that this was voted the funniest joke ever (I don’t recall where) in a poll.
A hunter was run over by a deer, so his buddy called 911. Once the operator answered, he asked “My buddy got run over by a deer and I think he’s dead!” The operator answered “Calm down sir,first make sure he is dead.” The hunter said ” Ok, just wait a sec.” The operator heard a loud bang. The hunter picked up the phone and asked “Now what?”
Brain breakage supplied by : ME!!!! Can anyone beat that joke?

I want to say that was from Richard Wisemen’s thing to find the funniest joke ever, but I could be mistaken.

I thought the funniest joke in english was the following (rephrased)

Scene: An evening on the moors

Sherlock Holmes: Watson, look up, Tell me what you see.

Dr. Watson: Well Holmes, the sky is clear, the moon is out, and I can see oorion to the east. I guess that it is about 3 in the morning.

Holmes: All correct Watson, but what else do you see?

Watson: Um Holmes, nothing. Whats wrong?

Holmes: Exactly, nothing. Someone has stolen our tent!

Yeah, this was the joke that Wiseman’s project came up with.  This is the one that got the most votes, though it hardly seems responsible for many deaths.  And as I recall Wiseman didn’t seem all that enamored with it.  But I guess after hearing tons of jokes you get a bit worn out.

Deer run over hunters all the time.  The white tail deer of North America can top 300lbs, and having one of those dance on you probably isn’t all that enjoyable.

After all, they sometimes even attack cars and come out as the winner.
