Actually if you check the site metrics linked from the site, he is indeed drumming up traffic, but most of it is likely from Digg.com, and the myriad of other link sites that have picked it up. A Google search last night turned up only Digg, but it looks like it’s spread quite a bit since…

If you’re remotely resourceful, and willing to spend actual money to host your site, then you’ll find hosting.
do you think i would be here, aparently waisting my time, if it was that easy? ive contacted all the big hosts and they’ve all turned me down. they accept that the site is a parody and does not actually contribute to spam but they don’t want to deal with the hassle created when idiots think that it is real and complain.
BTW why are you looking for a host if youre websites already up?
my current host only has basic features, i need full php access etc

i have to say im surprised by the reaction ive received here. if you don’t enjoy joke and hoax sites why the hell do you come to a website dedicated to them and spend so much time talking about them?

Silver, this is really uncalled for. And it comes awfully close to breaking forum rules #2 and #13. No, it doesn’t break them, but you’re walking a line there. Realize that you have come to a forum full of skeptics. Any possible motive is going to be questioned. Nothing is taken at face value, especially not someone new here posting a topic the likes of which we’ve seen a multitude of times before in the form of Spam.
While that certainly doesn’t excuse the ruder behavior aimed at you it certainly explains why you’re not getting answers or at least leads. While your site might very well be (and certainly looks like) a joke/parody site Transfrmr’s concerns are very legitimate, IMO. I wouldn’t submit mine or anyone’s email there.
Regardless, good luck finding a host.

Thanks (honestly) for the forum etiquette tip. Though, I have to disagree with your statement that the reason for it is that ‘The people here are, for the most part, smart and educated’ - Smart people don’t necessarily follow strict punctuation rules in casual conversations on internet forums, pedantic people on the other hand… at leest i is not talkn lolspeak
I realize you’re most likely not submitting the addresses to Spam sites for real, but even if you aren’t, you’re still potentially collecting many addresses. I can’t and won’t encourage this. If you aren’t submitting people’s addresses to Spam sites, you still have the potential to COLLECT A TON OF EMAIL ADDRESSES, which you could potentially sell, or do a myriad of things with that people would not like.

We both know most people submit their email address to complete strangers all the time. You submitted yours to (I assume strangers) to join this forum. And 99% of the time you can’t be positive what will happen to it. Although pretend, my site’s intentions are blatantly obvious. As well as being very amusing (at least to me) the project is a kind of social experiment; I wanted to see if people would submit addresses and why. I have been very surprised at number; in the first 24 hours I have received 326.
My reason for getting pissed is sites like these are somewhat nutty. You just cant trust sites like these. Its not completely complete strangers if its a forum like this theres members and the members are still there and none of them are complaining. Many people who have brains just check other sites if the forum is legitamate
I think I understand where you’re coming from, silver. I too get a bit irked whenI see someone come onto the forum and just use it to try and drum up a hit count for their site. This person may be getting some from Digg, but dollars to doughnuts he came here specifically because it has a high search engine exposure. (Esp. on subjects of, say, hoaxes....(
To me it is just another kind of spam, ie use of the forum for one’s personal gain. (Unlike most here who use the forum for one’s own sense of wierd…)
