THE owner of a Swiss restaurant wants to serve his award-winning meals with human breast milk.
The owner of the Storchen restaurant in the exclusive Winterthur resort will improve his menu with local specialities such as meat stew and various soups and sauces containing at least 75 per cent of mother’s milk.
“We have all been raised on it. Why should we not include it into our diet?” Hans Locher, who has become Switzerland most controversial restaurant owner, said.
Mr Locher attracted the attention of the leading media of the German-speaking world this week after he posted ads looking for women donors, who will receive just over three pounds for 14 ounces of their milk.
He said: “I first experimented with breast milk when my daughter was born.
“One can cook really delicious things with it. However, it always needs to be mixed with a bit of whipped cream, in order to keep the consistency.” READ MORE HERE
Wow.
Remind me to check my milkshake the next time we go out…..
eovti, I was going to say something pretty much along those lines. Human milk is VERY sweet….usually too sweet for adult taste (though I do know a few men who do like it but one already has a sugar disorder).
Heh.. I’ve heard of some friends-of-friends who feel that Thanksgiving just ‘isn’t enough’.
They run a five-day Medieval/Renaissance feasting revel with an interesting theme. Each meal is a steady increase up the evolutionary ladder. They start with yogurt and cheeses (being bacterial in nature), with veggies by dinnertime. Lots of folks give ‘insect day’ a miss, but apparently one can make a tasty cricket lasagne. Last year, they managed to have Breast Milk Ice Cream as dessert the final day.
I have wondered if I could pasturize my breast milk. I figured it would save a bundle on regular milk. Too bad this is so far away. Keeping the milk fresh on the trip would be a hassle. Since Anicah is nearly weened, I could be making some money. I could get 14 ounces out pretty easily.
NORFOLK, Va. (AP)—Norfolk-based People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is suggesting that ice cream be made with human breast milk instead of cow milk.
PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman made the suggestion in a letter sent to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, co-founders of Vermont-based Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice Cream. In the letter, Reiman said the idea is based on plans by a restaurant in Switzerland that is set to unveil a menu that includes food made with at least 75 percent breast milk.
Reiman says cows only produce milk right before and after pregnancy, so they are forcibly impregnated every nine months.
Ben & Jerry’s spokeswoman Liz Brenna says that while the company applauds PETA’s novel approach to bring attention to this issue, the company believes a human mother’s milk is best used for her child.
