BUENOS AIRES (Reuters) - A newborn baby abandoned outdoors in winter by her 14-year-old mother was found safe in a dog pen with a mother dog and her brood of puppies near the city of La Plata, Argentine media reported on Friday.
Farmer Fabio Anze found the naked baby girl on Thursday, being kept warm among his dog China’s puppies, La Nacion newspaper said. Anze called the police and the baby was taken to a hospital.
Erik sent this to me and I was SO touched by it. I think it demonstrates instincts that exist, and extincts that don’t. Often human parents need guidance with it comes to pregnancy and then with their newborns; many of the base instincts so hardwired in animals have been lost to humans in favor or higher intellect and reasoning which are NOT the same as instinct at all because they must be tutored through experience and that takes time.
The young girl was far too young really (probably more than other early teens we might know) to know what to do or who to trust.
The dog, however, instinctively understand the cry of a babe whether or not it was her own and automatically, instinctively responded.
We need our animals. We learn from them and their guileless teachings are mostly uncorrupted by ‘intellect’.
Silver, somehow I suspect you’re not a 14-year old girl. If you were born in 1995 I’m guessing you’re slightly younger than this young lady, and I suspect that you are, if younger and a male, just now coming into hormone rage season but only ‘just’.
It is oh so easy to be critical of the situations of others as long as you are not walking in their shoes. If you are a young man, you will never know how it feels to be a ‘little’ girl (and in this instance this is about a little girl, not an adult) who is pregnant and probably tried to figure out what she’s supposed to do, but if she’s keeping it a secret, you can be very sure she has not talked to an adult about it the entire time and probably none of her friends either. IF you don’t talk to someone, especially an adult who can help you, you live a nightmare.
You can be disgusted with her, but I’m wondering if you would be disgusted if you knew the male who was also part of this event. I’m pretty sure this was not an ‘immaculate’ conception.
Be careful though, very careful and my heart goes with you because in spite of all I’ve said, I would NEVER, EVER, want to be a teenager again. It is one of the most difficult to nearly impossible periods of life to travel.
If she kept it a secret it would be hard..8 months pregnant and still no one notices?She could have been abused but i cant say anything im saying know without being a jerk about it.Teens these days are being pressured more than ever (i know) peer pressure is the worst being accepted is what kids want.We always want to be accpeted thats the evolutionary problem.
Some women barely show when they are pregnant. If they are a bit overweight to begin with and then barely show, most around them would never know unless the mother-to-be informed them. The lady next door gave birth a short while ago but I never even knew she was pregnant….she is a big woman to begin with.
I also remember reading in the news some time ago about a ‘large’ woman who didn’t even know she, herself, was pregnant until getting very ill one morning and then in pain went to the emergency room where it was determined she was in labor! She had a nice surprise to call her husband about! Neither had an inkling since she had not shown even the symptoms of being pregnant.
Teens today are under great pressure, but because of the Internet there are avenues of valuable information and insight, both good and bad that were unavailable for other generations. It’s a way to reach out even anonymously.
There are plenty of ways to be in denial about a pregnancy, especially in a country that is mostly Catholic.
A friend of mine just went through something like this. Her 17 yr old daughter was pregnant and didn’t tell her until she was 7 months. The mother isn’t sure if she would have realized it if her daughter hadn’t said something. This family is nearly always together. Their whole lives are softball & baseball. In the off season all they do is train for the upcoming season. I think the baby is just a few weeks younger than Anicah. During softball when the girl would have been about 5 months pregnant her parents noticed she was sluggish running the bases, but they just put her on a diet. The softball clothes aren’t overly tight (the uniform shirts are actually fairly large), and the girl isn’t skinny, but she is VERY athletic & her body reflects her hours & hours of training & sport. I don’t really know how she dresses at school…so I don’t know if that would have given it away. The boy who is the father moved out of state before the girl’s mom could even talk to them. She has a feeling they know what happened & wanted to get the kid out before anyone could take any action against him.
