For you dragon fanatics.

HALIFAX - A Halifax-area lake is missing its resident dragon.

Police say the papier mache dragon’s head - affectionately known as Emily - was stolen Monday night from its summer home in Miller Lake.

The creature’s green head and large black eyes can usually be seen peering out of the water along Highway 102.

A dragon has been keeping watch at Miller Lake for years, although various incarnations of Emily have also gone missing in the past.

RCMP Cpl. Joe Taplin says someone would need a boat in order to swipe the dragon.

What? No pics? And I didnt think papier machete could be put in water. Wouldnt it get ruined?

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy, and taste very good with ketchup.

Do not enter a battle of wits unarmed.

NEVER play leapfrog with a unicorn.

That was sort of what I was wondering, but with no photo of it you can’t really tell how it was displayed.  If it was actually in the water, I don’t think it would last very long.

EDIT:  Ah, and now I’ve found a couple of pictures of her from a few months ago.  It seems that she’s actually fibreglass over papier-maché.

That leads me to think it is in the water. However, it could be that it was on a platform of sorts on top of the water. Even then, wouldnt it deteriorate due to the weather? Rain and such. And I imagine mold would grow due to the damp environment. Lets not forget the animals that must be around there pooping on it, or even trying to eat it.

But the original was stolen — twice.  Then crafted versions were also stolen. Probably because it’s a challenge to steal, said Snow. But if Emily goes missing, it’s no big deal, she added.

Heh….
