Rough week. It should get better after tomorrow though.

(My eldest bro died last Wed. in Penn.  I couldn;t attend the funeral due to physical limitations. The only member of core family not to attend. Urk.  Kinda Bummed. Massive understatement.)

Other than that, things are going along fairly well. I am due to go back into the mountains in a few days with my middle son (Jst back from Army reserve Basic Training.)

How goes things in the land way down below?

Yeah, I saw about your brother’s death.  It must suck immensely that you couldn’t attend the funeral.

Things are ticking along quietly down here.  My folks are beginning to get in a bit of a flap - they’re heading to the UK at the end of the month, and leaving me to look after the house, dog and myself for about 7 weeks.  Considering that this is the first time ever that my parents will be away and leaving me on my own, they’re kinda worried about my survival…

LOL

That’s funny as heck, Smerk! cheese

You can come to America to check things out, but God forbid you should stay home at the house alone! LOL

Too funny.

Sounds like my folks though.  They have great fears of my 18 yr old daughter riding the city bus to work! cheese
(We have such a low crime rate here that very few folks lock their cars or doors, but they are afraid she will be abducted or something! ) LOL

Wow. grin

Well, I am going to go and try and catch some shuteye.
Take care, huh?

Tell them it will be impossible for anything to go wrong, as you will be having all-night parties until they get back. smile

Having been in that situation before, I find it best to turn on a radio or something, give some good ‘white noise’, in case you are, in fact, creeped out by being alone.

First time I got left ‘home alone’ it was so that the rest of my family could go to Disneyland..“Oh.. you can’t go? Well, that’s ok.. we needed someone to watch the house..“ raspberry I *really* hate my stepmother, since she deliberately planned the trip for when I was taking mid-terms. Found out later that she had told my dad I’d said I didn’t want to go.

Yeah, I’ll definitely be doing the music/white noise thing.  And wandering around talking to myself loudly.  Or singing…

Well, your stepmother sounds really “nice”...rolleyes

Yeah.. Without going into details, she’s the reason I spent the better part of five years homeless. Extremely passive-agressive, spiteful, and all-round a nasty bit of work. When I played Portal, GladOS reminded me a LOT of her..
