SAO PAULO, Brazil - An 11-year old boy is in Brazil’s media spotlight after sinking his teeth into the neck of a dog that attacked him.

Local newspapers reported Thursday that Gabriel Almeida was playing in his uncle’s backyard in the city of Belo Horizonte when a pit bull named Tita lunged at him and bit him in the left arm.

Almeida grabbed the dog by the neck and bit back - biting so hard that he lost a canine tooth.

Stonemasons working nearby chased the dog away before it could attack again.

But i have a few things to ask…
1.Why the Hell was a loose PITBULL running around?

In recent years, the American Pit Bull Terrier’s image has been compromised by frequent media coverage concerning dog-fighting rings and attacks on humans. Advocates of the breed argue that irresponsible or neglectful owners as well as media sensationalism are largely to blame for this reputation. 

2.Why does the dog have to be killed?

  while the dog was taken to a pound and may be killed.

3.Wheres the owner of the dog anyway?
If the dog has a name,Where the hell is the owner??

My interpretation of the story is that the dog was probably owned by the boy’s uncle.

2.Why does the dog have to be killed?

It’s a fairly standard practice where if a dog attacks a person unprovoked, then authorities may consider the dog to be too dangerous to be allowed to live.

Again, if the dog is owned by the boy’s uncle, then I’d hope that the man wouldn’t be too far away, and probably didn’t think that the dog would attack his nephew.

However, there doesn’t appear any confirmation as to who owns the dog, or the circumstances as to what actually caused the dog to latch on.  I know my dog can get a bit rough when playing and snaps at me and my dad, but she never would go and bite someone for no good reason.
