I find this funny. The lady was so willing to sell. She knew of the books “secrets”(I’m sure).
She knew they where worthless and wanted to get rid of them.

So they came with a few “surprises”.

Buyer beware.

To be honest, I would not mind a few hollowed out books of my own. Too much work to hallow one out yourself. Besides I got enough cuts and scrapes on my hands, don’t need more from digging out the pages in a hardback.

Because of the chemical process involved in creating a polaroid picture…and the damaging lignens in books…for the pictures to have vibrant colors & non-yellowing, they would have to be fairly newish.  Made in the last decade or so.  Possible not even that long ago.

...Sorry the scrapbooker in me couldn’t help but check out the pictures to see their condition.

I have polaroids from 20 years ago. They are still in great condition.
As long as you keep them out of direct sun…. they stay in remarkable shape.
