It doesn’t change the fact that there are other systems out there and they could be using it. It doesn’t need to be a recent game, either. Savings throws only went away in with third edition D&D;. And before that when D&D;was really big and growing the clones did everything they could to emulate it. Couple that with the fact that I know that gray is a more experienced gentleman and it’s not too far-fetched to think he may have played some role-playing games long ago that used a d12 system.
(I personally grew up playing first edition AD&D;. No matter what they are officially called I will always call them saving throw or “saves”.)
But it’s all silly to debate (since gray admitted he had never played - D&D;at least), to get this back on topic…
