It doesn’t change the fact that there are other systems out there and they could be using it.  It doesn’t need to be a recent game, either.  Savings throws only went away in with third edition D&D;.  And before that when D&D;was really big and growing the clones did everything they could to emulate it.  Couple that with the fact that I know that gray is a more experienced gentleman and it’s not too far-fetched to think he may have played some role-playing games long ago that used a d12 system.

(I personally grew up playing first edition AD&D;.  No matter what they are officially called I will always call them saving throw or “saves”.)

But it’s all silly to debate (since gray admitted he had never played - D&D;at least), to get this back on topic…

Will moonlight cure lycanthropy?

Fictional disease, fictional cure, I don’t see why not. Of course, there are homeopathic remedies that work much better for the same reason.

While sunning might cause skin damage and even melanoma, moonlighting at least earns you a little extra money.

I don’t see how rolling a “saving throw” of say 12 or less, (!st & 2nd edition D&D;for me…) can be any more or less effective than any other alternative therapy cure! cheese

Actually, we ought to start a healing system using such things as saving throws! LOL

“Mr. Erikson, you have terminal alternative lycanthopy.  According to our research, if you can roll a saving throw of 7 or less, we might be able to effect a cure!“ hmmm  LOL

I’m sure there is someone somewhere who uses that system or something like it.  Remember all the old movies where the witch doctor would throw the bones and mumble something over someones sick bed expecting them to be cured shortly.

IWC.  You’ll find a couple of familiar names lurking on the forum there…

Is moonlight the miracle cure?

No.

But moonshine is good for what ails you!

I also think that.
